Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

NZ Post ... I mean why? Beyond words that they think they need to change it. Is it supposed to show the tyres of a courier van, and show that they don't take the direct route when they drive?

Or customers being driven around the bend?

Geektastic: Air New Zealand.

We are trying to sort out refunds and discovered that the various flights we were forced to cancel due to Covid all have $50 penalty fees for putting them into credits.

Outrageous.

@Geektastic Umm I booked flights about 3 days ago for a day trip to Wellington tomorrow to visit a sick work colleague.

Placed my Air NZ fare into credit and there was no penalty fee. I did this online.

Sadly can't do the same for Jetstar fare as the option to place fare into credit is an add-on that needed to be selected at time of purchase.

The fact that all of the non-wall-covering-volume paints like furniture stain and varnish (see the post to the things that make you smile thread) is sold only in dinky little tiny tins so the ridiculously nonlinear scaling of prices never takes effect. As a result you need to get them in 1L-tin lots which works out to hundreds of dollars for a 4L tin equivalent.

When a twin pack of home brand paper towels @ NW are $1.99 ($1 each) and their 6 pack of home brand costs $6.99!

(No - I didn't buy the 6 pack!)

In two minds about whether to post this in the Windows 11 thread, but it seems to mainly be people on other forums doing this, so I'm posting it here.

Something that's been annoying me since the announcement is people downloading the leaked version of the OS and using it as an authoritative source. Things like "Microsoft says you need X hardware, but they're lying because the copy I pirated from a torrent site works fine without it".

Just because it works now doesn't mean it'll work in the actual version!

It works fine without it if you take a DLL from the Windows 10 install and apply it to the Windows 11 install. That suggests the requirements are entirely arbitrary rather than technical. I think that's what most people have an issue with.

And then when it goes RTM and that DLL is update and your system stops working people will complain.

Exactly what we thought until we saw the paperwork. No mention of penalties at the time.

This makes me sad more than annoys me.

How quickly New Zealanders turn on each other when things go wrong.
