Lack of standardisation is another 'fun' one. My TV at home has a red light for off, and a green light for on. The TVs at work have a red light for on, and nothing for off.

I notice poor industrial design too often. We've got a sony tv which is generally very good but the remote has flush buttons and is weighted in such a way that if you pick it up in the dark, you can't tell which way round it is.
All it would take would be some tactile elements.
Sucks for blind people, too.

Totally. A very neglected section of the TV market.......

You would be surprised at the number of blind people who enjoy television and even the cinema. They are not only a visual experience.

The Beijing 'Winter' Olympics...some of the locations just don't look right, which makes it look so fake.
The close camera angles look alright, but in the long shots, there is a 'snowy' patch in the middle of what looks to be a industrial estate.
Some of the pictures in the story below emphasis my point

Apparently there's an issue with some Mazda car radios that tuned into a particular radio station in Seattle. A malformed broadcast caused the radios to 'freeze' and get stuck on that station. Mazda acknowledged the issue but says it could take a while to get replacement parts due to the chip shortage.
So... we're in the middle of a chip shortage and Mazda's solution to a software bug is to not fix the software, but replace the hardware.
For bonus points, storing semantic information in a filename (yes, I know Windows is guilty of this).
And to hear Xperi and Madza tell it, the broadcaster is to blame for transmitting images – which show up on HD Radio display screens – without the required file extension in the file name.

Similar issue with some supermarket self-checkouts. Looking at you New World....

Some of these things will have one time programmable chips in them - saves 50 cents per unit you know !

And they are completely incomprehensible to those like me who are significantly red-green "colour blind".
So many devices rely on a single red+green LED to allegedly convey important status information, instead of spending an extra 5 cents to have two LEDs - they could be red & green, who cares.
:(
I went for a CT scan today.
I was given a form to complete. "Remember to fill in both sides!" I was instructed.
Side one (among other things):
Name, DoB, Are you taking any medications? Please list them
Side two (among other things):
Name, DoB, Are you taking any medications? Please list them
I went to pick up Mum from the hospital today (it's nothing serious). They asked why I'm there, I told them, she gave me a sticker, and I proceeded in. I didn't actually look at the sticker until after I left.
"Covid-19 tested negative"
They didn't even ask the usual "do you have a sore throat?" stuff and I certainly wasn't tested!
We have these car wash things in town called WashPods.
Containers converted into unmanned contactless car wash machines.
Drive up, wave your credit card at it, drive in and get a wash, drive out.
Himself arrived at the washpod the other day and there was a car ahead of him about to enter the actual pod.
Himself pulled up to the pay station and waved his card at it.
Then the car in front backed up a bit then drove in properly for his wash.
At that point Himself realised that he just paid for the car in front!
And had to pay again for himself.

No matter where you go, there you are.
Yes, it is a daft place to put them.
If you ever use it, make sure the car ahead of you is already in the washpod before you make your payment.

Consumer NZ finds some New Zealand olive oils to not be 100% local

Matapiro and Village Press were caught out for advertising their products as being made with only New Zealand olives when they actually contain a blend of local and Australian oil.

And the Australian Oil is relabeled .... ?
