CapBBeard: Does anyone have any thoughts on whether the China thing will be any quicker than the regular China mail?

Most sellers I've come across offer very cheap if not free shipping from China on a lot of items, with the caveat being it might take a few weeks to arrive. Unless YouShop is likely to be a lot quicker, I'm not so sure on its utility.

I've bought a few items from AliExpress with free shipping. But it does take a few weeks.

Not sure I would pay extra for faster shipping and the YouShop handling fee.

If there was consolidation and the ability to get to 20kg to get the freight rates then I would be interested in youshop. The shipper I was put onto in shenzhen doesn't want to hold things for days to get up to the weight, they all need to arrive at the same time pretty much as its the size of a garage.

I'm not sure that it would be quicker, but perhaps more reliable? I have had a few items (perhaps 5% of my ebay ex China/HK orders) lost in the post.

Also the postal service by most of these sorts of sellers is delivered by posties rather than couriers, so if it is too big for your letterbox and you aren't home to sign, then you need to collect it from a NZ Post depot, which in Christchurch is only open mornings (Courier depots usually open all day)

I would hope for the price they are charging that the packages would come by EMS, in which case 5-7 days is fairly reliable (out of Guangzhou-Shenzhen) and will be delivered by CourierPost, tracked.

Personally, I don't see a market for it.

You mean the stuff you want to ship is the size of a garage?  A container load?  And only 20kg?  I'm sure you can buy bags of feathers in NZ!

Or do you mean that the shipper's warehouse is a garage and they don't have space for long term storage?  Talk to taobao agents, PM me if you want a recommendation, they may be able to do it for you as a custom service even if the items you're buying are not on taobao group site, and they don't mind waiting and consolidating.

I just wasnt there for long enough last time because work has a no leave october to closing day policy, so I had to leave on the 29th. The things I wanted were not available at the sellers in the markets and they would have had to come down from the factory which they wont do special trips for small orders and it would have taken some time to put together so I missed out this time.

The shippers place is just a garage in an alleyway so thats why they dont want things there for days on end. But the 20kg to get freight rates can be made up of more than one box so they can do something where they hand things over to fedex at different times but put them all on one bill if you get the timing right.

Im going to go back later now that I dont have to worry about stupid things like when I can take leave and actually get some shopping in next time. And be aware of what caffine withdrawl is so I dont spend 2 days in the hotel feeling like crap instead of shopping.

If I include a few batteries with my order from B&H (such as this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/994420-REG/blackmagic_design_bmpccass_batt_pocket_cinema_camera.html ) what would YouShop do to my order if anything?

Check their terms. I think they don't do lithium batteries. However it maybe just lithium polymer (which is more dangerous) from memory.

Well done YouShop
2 days for my parcel to go from the Warehouse to Auckland (arriving on a Friday). I had to wait till Monday to get it, but still very quick.

Can I get a 50% discount code for being positive
(I jest - I have nothing to ship from the Warehouse and nothing planned for October/mid November)

FWIW I ordered a couple of large-ish 13000mAh USB backup batteries from Amazon (clearly labelled as such) via YouShop USA and they turned up without issue.

Got a book routed via YouShop using my free Amazon Prime account as I foolishly thought that it'd work out cheaper than shipping it direct. Nope. $41 from YouShop to post an admittedly heavy book versus the $27 it was going to be direct from Amazon. Silly mistake.

I'd love a 50% discount code.

After forking out a total of $300 for shipping for the last 4 parcels...  Someone's winning and it's not me!

How long does it take after a parcel is delivered to YouShop to appear as being at the YouShop warehouse on the site? One of my parcels from Amazon was delivered and signed for yesterday, but it still says 0 parcels at the warehouse.

Youshop is the most horrible serice I have ever had. I would rather not shop at all if I had to use usehsop again.
1. they lost my package and sent me someone else
2. took them 2 weeks to tell me they cant find my package
3. to compensate they only gave me 25% off coupon for 1 package
4. i have 4 parcels waiting at youshop one of them the retailer said weighs 1.2 Kgs youshop said it weighs 2.1 KG and charged me $65 for shipping.
5. i sent them 5 emails and called 3 times asking them to please recheck the weight again and they still havent gotten back to me yet they send me timely reminders that i have 5 days to pay for my package.
6. absolute sh** hole service. the consultants on the phone are rude and dumb and have no idea what youshop is. absolutely hate their service. i given till Wednesday if no reply i will be returning all my packages to the retailer and never using youshop again.
