Anybody have any ideas how recent the Wellington data is? I know it's less than 2 years looking at some of the buildings on it, I'm just curious if anybody can narrow the timeframe down.

The holly tree I cut down last Christmas is there, as is the apple tree I cut down during winter last year.

Interesting to see that the maps are newer than what the council uses for its rates search photos (the Google photos are aerial photos supplied by the Council). The Google maps show the new townhouses two doors down, while the Council website still has the old house that was there previously.

My guess is they are somewhere in the late 2004-early 2005 range. There are areas in the Hutt Valley near the Western Hills where there is no detail - are you sure the maps are scanned from council images?

Wellington City Council has: http://www.wellington.govt.nz/publications/pdfs/apwoct06.pdf.

Haven't heard about the other councils though.
