I had to laugh today - driving through town saw a bill board for an airline announcing its new trans Tasman alliance allows it to fly from Chch to Australia (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne) non-stop.

Non-stop? As opposed to what? Ditching in the Tasman half way there? Not a lot of options other than non stop I would have thought

And yes - all you Asperger guys / gals out there, I do realise this means not via Auckland so please Don't tell me why I'm wrong finding this humorous. they really should have said 'direct' not non-stop. alright? so stop correcting me please.  ;)
