Skydiver jumps from 25000 feet and lands with no parachute.

I think I'll find another way to get my thrills.

This'll start a new craze and before long someone will be squished like a bug on your car's windscreen.

Calculated risk due to all the testing they did. Now he is probably set for life financially.

Yeah man I was impressed and a little emotional for the wife. You'd need a pretty understanding SO to be able to pull that off with 2 small kids to look after if it all goes wrong.

I wonder if there was a financial contingency if he missed the net. One decent gust of wind....

I've never understood jumping out of a perfectly good working aircraft.

How does he walk with such a huge pair of balls :-P

joker97: The news said they made him wear a parachute at the last moment

I read SAG wanted him to (because he's a proper stuntman), but he didn't need to in the end.

"After 18 months of preparation, the Screen Actors Guild almost put a spanner in the works by insisting that he wore a parachute for the stunt as a precaution.

However following further negotiations, which continued while the plane was climbing to the jumping altitude, the Guild had a change of heart and the requirement was lifted.

Mr Aikins said that the need to wear a parachute would have made the jump more dangerous because of the need to adjust his position as he approached the net."

Makes me wonder if he always intended to wear one. . Because it would have added a good amount of weight to him so the net would have had to handle that extra weight. Basically wearing the parachute made it relatively safe

The video clearly shows a parachute pack (not deployed).
