I feel sad at this as he and Gates made an enormous contribution to tech(at the time). 65 is too young!

Indeed, he got a lot less press than BG. Paul Allen funded an awesome music museum in Seattle which is well worth a look. I heard he was a big jimmy hendrix fan and the museum has a large collection of jimi memorabilia.

 

He can also be admired for giving away so much money during his lifetime, something other mega-rich would do well to emulate. After all, you can't take it with you.

I wonder now how much of the alleged/rumored chair throwing and so on were influencened by his health issues.

I don't think he's in that video, he retired in 1982 from Microsoft when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease
