Ordered a car part to get my car back on the road, overnight delivery with signature.

It was delivered today, not to my address, courier signed for it.

I call NZ post, they say I have an authorisation to leave parcels at my address.  Thing is, I have never given this authorisation for my address, and when I check online....

NZ post say they will lodge an investigation... i asked them to call the courier, as at the time it was only 1/2 hour after the incorrect delivery, but NZ post will not call the courier.

Grrr.

Try calling the local courier post depot. I've had better luck than just the national call centre when trying to get a hold of drivers.

The nz post call center will not put me through to the local branch.... but, they have tried contacting the driver now but not answering their phone.

Oh well, online rant over.........just annoyed.

NZ Post are incompetent. And they lie.

I ordered some stuff from overseas and kept track of it through a link the supplier sent. On 23 August the carrier (UPS) reported it as having arrived in Auckland. From there NZ Post were supposed to take over.

When it still hadn't arrived three weeks later I asked where it was (via Facebook Messenger) they said the parcel was still in Chicago. According to them, the 'handover' was merely UPS giving prior notice the parcel was coming to NZ.

Quite obviously a porky, especially when my parcel did actually turn up two days later.

All I can say is good luck in getting a satisfactory resolution

Dratsab: The person I dealt with at NZ Post was incompetent. And they lied.

Fixed that for you.

Had similar problem with Post Haste Couriers last week. 1 x case of Red 🍷 Wine. Courier stated "Greerton, Tauranga was rural" so left case at deport in Bethlehem. No card in letter box either. After several phone calls and 4 days later it arrived at front door (in full sun) even though instructions stated "if not at home to go through side gate and leave on patio by Ranch Slider" which is in the shade.

Courier stated it was "signed for" - WALOBS

I am hearing more and more of these stories.

The only good part of this is that Laithwaites Wines have given me a free bottle of red 🍷 with my next order 😀

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I gave up getting wine delivered for this reason. They never left it where instructed, it was normally left in full sight of the street

No, you 'fixed' it to suit yourself. My postie is a study in incompetence. I regularly hear complaints about NZ Post from friends and the amount of complaints I've seen online are astounding.

This can actually be the case at times. Things don't always travel direct, and will be handed over to a third party to travel overseas, sometimes not even taking a direct route.

Once it's cleared here, it "shouldn't" take long.

This, if you can find the numbers, is a great avenue, otherwise pop in to the reception and push for some answers.

I'm in limbo, even NZ post cannot agree between themselves.

The delivery branch are saying the driver is in the right to leave the package because of this 'authority to leave packages' at my address ... But, the NZ post admin office are saying there is no such authority in place (I phoned to revoke authority but it they cannot remove what is not there).

And, they cannot contact the driver either.

Have you gone into the branch and shown them the screen shot you posted here?

It was delivered today, not to my address, courier signed for it.

If that isn't illegal it should be.

All our China Post registered items now are turning up signed for by nobody. No authority was ever given for this to happen, but given the local depot has gone from being ~1km away to several km of busy intersections away, it's probably the lesser of two evils. If they end up at the depot, I'm just going to insist on delivery anyway, so it's preferable they 'sign' for it and deliver it ASAP. They're still responsible for the item until it's in my hands.

Maybe the "Authority to leave packages" is on the address that the incorrectly delivered it to?

Although I don't see what this actually has to do with anything as, regardless of this, they delivered it to the wrong address.
