Had a message last night = 

 

(Here is  a quick summary...Sign-in When Device Feb 24, 2022 07:51 PM Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Smartphone) Canterbury, New Zealand)

 

I immediately changed my password,  Do I need to change anything else tried looking on Amazon couldn't see anything helpful there.

Make sure you have 2FA on everything that supports it. Change your email address password. Change the password on any other account that used the same password as Amazon (you don't use the same password on different sites, right?)

Amazon in particular supports Authy, enable that now.

 

 

However they also have problems with false positives, if you have a Samsung Galaxy and the Amazon app installed then on it was most likely that doing some update of Amazon info that went wrong and was reported as a hacking attempt. In particular an attack from a cellphone in NZ rather than a server in Russia seems a bit unlikely.

Good to hear it wasn't something nefarious, though it is still a good reminder to secure accounts with 2FA if people haven't done it already!

 

I've just gone to double check, especially with the increased use of Amazon.com.au these days.
