Hi There!

Wow it never ceases to amaze me how many successful kiwi's lack class.

Steve Williams just can't seem to keep his mouth shut, I feel embarrassed reading his comments.I am not sure what he is trying to prove? He was employed, it was a successful relationship for both parties. The relationship ended and now he is employed by someone else. Move on.

Perhaps we should introduce the teaching of such things in schools, like they do it in Europe.

yeah I agree,  Does he honestly expect people to believe that winner a regular PGA event made his week better than winning one of the 13 majors he won!

I think it was more about how the relationship ended... over the phone... way to go Tiger.

What is it exactly is it they teach in schools in europe??

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

Not too sure, but hopefully not what UK schools teach.

The English seem to be the worse abusers of their own language.  The amount of times they misuse words in sentences and in everyday speech, totally shocks me.

Steve didn't handle the matter all too well!

But then again, neither did Tiger!

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Hi There!

I don't think he was let go over the phone, he had a face to face with him after an event, which stemmed from additional comments Steve made about another golfer (Not the first time he has been in trouble with Tiger over his comments).

I think they call it finishing school. It teaches formal manners, what it's safe to discuss in specific company, ins and outs of social graces.

That's quite a generalisation.

I don't think so. I didn't say all Kiwi's lack class, I was saying I was surprised how many. That many be a small number but still more than it could or should be.

I like John Key as PM, but sometimes I cringe when I see him interacting with others.

Dame Kiri te Kanawa would be another example. There have been a number over the years. I do think however, that a fair number of Kiwi's lack social graces and basic manners.

All I will say is good on Steve Williams... he got the shaft, picked himself up again, contributed successfully to his new employer and then went on record as saying he had a good week?

shame on us and the typical "Tall Poppy Syndrome" we seem to be so good at.....

Celebrate the man's success

evilg: He hardly got the shaft, he was fired for caddying for someone other than Tiger whilst on retainer and without even discussing it with his boss, a guy he should know better than to mess with. He was also fired for commonly making offensive comments about other golfers out of turn. Regardless of all that, he has made a lot of money working for TW, which good on him for getting himself to that place, but he isn't out of pocket and shouldn't be publicly commenting in my opinion. It's shows a lack of class and grace.

One thing that gets me is the kiwi boo ing (how do really write that?!) at rugby matches when people are taking kicks etc. Man we look good overseas with that one.

jaxson: Yes it's disgraceful. Imagine if that happened in Aussie when DC was kicking, there would be an outrage in the paper. It's the equivalent of not showing respect at the Haka.

Hard to know if you're taking the pss or not?! Undecided

Yeah I just liked the response in UK when it was silent as any kicker had a points attempt and there was genuine respect for their ability should they pull it off, regardless of what team they were on.

jaxon: my recently memory of games in Aussie don't have them booing our kickers, but I stand to be corrected if that is not the case. They aren't quiet, but I don't specifically recall booing.

He does seem like a bit of twerp.  I can't believe caddies get paid 10% off the winners cheque!  I'd get my dad to haul round the golf bag for that price.

He's on to another winner, he should really have kept his big gob shut and kept his dignity in the whole thing.
