numpty: I'm just curious to know the business case for it really...it has to be fairly large I would assume as it is only the big guys that are entering and sharing their networks.

Up front cost of ISAM, linecards and installation
Ongoing costs:
Co-location fees for hosting equipment in Chorus exchanges
Line rental for use of Chorus coper line from house/business to the exchange
Fee for connection from the rack to the fibre providers who connect to (or near) that exchange
Cost of backhaul over fibre providers network to ISP's data center / NOC
Maintenance contract with vendors of equipment
Probably more... pretty expensive but still cheaper over the long term than paying Chorus for end to end service like EUBA + Tail Extension
