Our phone line dropped off with Actrix last Thursday and hasn't been working since.  The service has been appalling, which is a shame as up until now Actrix has been quite good.  No updates whatsoever without being chased and then just an apology but no detail as to what is wrong and we are still phone less.  All the ISPs are at the mercy of Chorus, the model really is flawed but it doesn't excuse poor customer service.

Anyone else having phone problems?

The model is fine. Most of the issues come down to ISPs not submitting correct information to Chorus meaning faults don't get fixed in a timely manner.

If it just dropped off on it's own accord I would guess a jumper has been pulled by accident somewhere or an old joint as broken down. Is your broadband still running? And stating the obvious here, but you have checked all the cords etc?

Most likely a fault with the copper.
For a speedy fix and effective one make sure you are present for the chorus tech visit and be sure he checks from your BT jack back to the node or exchange. How it works with Chorus and the RSP's is great to be honest. Good to have one network provide for the nation than 1 per city like the US.

I've never quite seen that, even when dealing directly.  Yes, thankfully broadband is still running.  And thanks, yes the first thing we did was pull everything out and walk around plugging them in one by one to see if any made a difference but no joy.  Still down and still no updates.
