Well, What i do at Vodafone isnt in the question.
With the speedtest attached it is completely possible to listen to an internet radio and at the same time use wikipedia and other tools commonly used to do homework via. Easily login to a school intranet etc.

Well, What i do at Vodafone isnt in the question.

I do much stuff related to xDSl, Fibre, Sometimes cable.
Not that I'm obliged to tell the world...

I know people on this thread have been talking about the need to for UFB/fast copper etc for Facebooking, Wikipedia, high resolution Trademe images, and faster loading Stuff life style pages and so on, but honestly I find the biggest drain/bandwidth hog is actually 1080p adult content. My VDSL really gets a work out with this stuff.

Well considering i got 17a running 65Mb/s 4K seems to do the trick for me.

Personal Opinion: Sorry I stopped reading at Page 6, apologies if this has been covered!

My understanding is the current RBI Rollout finishes in the next year or two. Communities should be petitioning their local MPS (of both colours) for Election year announcements for the next round of RBI that would address all remaining areas not currently covered by UFB/RBI. We all pay into this funding through our Telco bills and taxes and this would support Chorus to finish this work, given all the issues going on.

Also (again sorry if you've mentioned this), have you logged a fault through your provider to Chorus for Slow Throughput? These are all monitored and may affect future investment decisions, even if there is no fix provided at the time.

Yes time for an update, been too long feeling sorry for myself,,,

Yes done all the fault finding including master splitter, new modem, requesting the odd speed test from others in the community finally pinpointing it squarely at the Chorus backhaul. Unfortunately though there is no fault in the eyes of Chorus as even though the Chorus backhaul is woefully under provisioned causing our (and others on the BUBA service) evening congestion issues the pitiful 0.4Mb/s to 0.7Mb/s average speed is way above the regulated minimum of 0.032Mb/s.

It is being submitted to the house of representatives tomorrow. Next Monday we have organised a Public Meeting here and asked representatives from a few businesses to attend along with Chorus and Vodafone for an open discussion.
