datahawk:OK, I see now after checking my previous interleave stats that my ping has also been static at 13ms regardless of depth which also jumped from 0 to ~250 when I played with the Draytek SNR adjustment and firmware updates.

Your Interleave depth jump is normal
I was on Fast (zero depth) also till ddDLM kicked in
When I trialled modem at road, my connections were 65/20Mbps interleave depth was 277 then
Modem in house at 44/8Mbps the Interleave depth was 188
With SNR tweaks and higher connection speeds the Depth also goes up.

What's the difference between VDSL Annex A and VDSL Annex B?

Our modem reset again today at 4 am, nothing had changed at all exept for the downstream attainable rate which had gone from 56 to 68 but the rate I am syncing at is only 36/11 which the download is way to slow for my distance and my line quality as before the new dlm change came into place we were getting 53/9, what should I do?

AidanP: What's the difference between VDSL Annex A and VDSL Annex B?
Annex B is for ADSL with ISDN. Not something we have in NZ.

High attainable rate but low sync rate would suggest wiring issue related to noise and/or interference. It also could be cauesd by very high VDSL update/usage in the neighbourhood resulting in interference at the cabinet level (quite unlikely though IMHO)

As a starter, are you able to hook up your modem to the External Termination Point and see what sync rate you are getting. This will rule out (or rule in) in house wiring issue. Beyond the ETP, the wiring is Chorus's properties and only Chorus can investigate external wiring issue.

Some formatting would have been nice :)

if there is nothing wrong at your end you could try lodge a fault with your ISP  but you could be liable for a charge for no fault found if chorus find nothing.

AidanP,

Your sync rate at the ETP is still low and that rules out internal wiring issue. That leaves a couple of areas to investigate:

- Wiring from the ETP back to the cabinet

- Interference at the cabinet level due to high VDSL usage in your area. Low probability IMHO

Yep. For the first problem, you will have to log a call with your ISP. If it is the second problem, it will not be registered as a fault as this is classified as a part of "normal" VDSL operation at the cabinet level.

Possibly first thing is to sort getting your modem running in Annex A mode ?
Annex B is working but not optimised for NZ

Not familiar with Netcomm modems but there must surely be a Firmware for it

Looks like we synced a few days ago and I've noticed a major improvement on the upload. Previously was getting 1.0 Mbps, now it's up to 1.4.

No change downstream.

The day after Chorus started installing fibre into our street, my VDSL modem resynched with these stats (previously 46Mbps/8Mbps). My current working theory is that it's becoming increasingly nervous about its ongoing role in our household, and is trying a last ditch attempt to prove to us that it can still be useful :-)
