hio77:

The gains for me, will be switching my second line over as the next end crosstalk is the biggest hit.

so coming back to the above screenshot that i scribbled on.

Here is it vectored.

note as i marked in the original shot, soon as it was past 512 bins, a spike up before continuing with expected distance drop.

Glad to see my drawings are still on point ;)

While vectoring has seen very little gains for me so far, my error rates have hit the floor.

I have a motor in the house, used intermittently for a few seconds.  This motor causes a spike which adds about 20,000 FEC downstream errors each time so I avoid using it as much as possible.  My overall error rate has improved since vectoring was switched on early Tuesday but the FEC errors when this particular motor operates are still occurring.  Should G.INP be dealing with a spike of this type?

Do you think there will ever be plans to enabling vectoring on exchanges where UFB is coming?

I'm still 3 + years from getting UFB so any gains in this space would be welcome.

It is not inconceivable that in 3 years the base plan for UFB would be GB down / 500up....

No - there are no such plans. Sorry.

No need to apologise, why would Chorus invest in a network that is soon to be decommissioned....just hopeful....

I'm in the same boat but I'm on an Ikanos linecard. Is it likely to be upgraded to a Broadcom linecard?

Any idea if vectoring was successful on WAK_B-DSLAM-03? It's listed on the map as being done on the 22nd but my router doesn't seem to have switched to vectoring mode.

Thanks,

J

Well... My parents just got Vectoring enabled:

@hio77 That upload loss... They just went from 100/50Mbit to 100/30Mbit due to the fact their Draytek has a fault (dry solder joint on the Ethernet port) that causes the Ethernet port to only negotiate at 100Mbit.

Oh that's unfortunate, as I'd get a decent boost from that upgrade. Thanks Brent.

oh this dip (and the lack of loss actually..) makes me happy :)

My thoughts on Vectoring and G.INP are
The Rich seem to have gotten richer on Downstream by the biggest margins (ie those on 100Mbp/s are now on or near 120Mbps, 20% gain
As we go down from 100Mbps pre Vectoring the downstream gain drops, I got a 4% on 75 to 78Mbps
Some results below 75Mbps seem to have very little gain at all, some even dropping
Not a single person so far has jumped with joy with a huge gain that Chorus trial Vectoring line with gains shows there should be.

On the other hand the Rich Upstream sync has dropped drastically almost 20Mbps see above comment from @michaelmurfy 's parents
I got not a sausage and again I doubt many have
But this is a Chorus decision nothing to do with Vectoring or G.INP

But the one redeeming thing that has happened is error rate has dropped drastically
Not a single error other than the Linecard resyncing on upstream for me, will be interesting with next Thunderstorm.
This I suppose allows most connections to go on Fast mode (no interleaving), giving a small Ping boost

Anyway I think we got more from G.INP than from Vectoring, just my thoughts on what I've seen thus far.
I could be completely wrong of course not seeing behind the scenes happenings
Would love another Chorus pre/post vectoring result for the masses

Did the vectoring trial cabinets get a resync ?
Were they trialing with <30mbps upstream limit ?
