Got same notification, will likely now downgrade from 300/100 to 100/20. We only have 2 connections going at any time, 1 streaming various platforms (only some of which are 4k) and the other streaming youtube. No need for fast uploads and the 100 d/load should be heaps of headroom, even if both connections are 4k

Got a notification from BigPipe today too.

Skinny and BigPipe are the same ISP these days. Only difference is the brand name but everything behind the scenes including the teams running them are the same.

Interesting changes recently. I don't think we've had any contact from Mercury yet.

But this house is on Fibre Lite, 50/10 (or 52/12 to be technically correct) with them.

Running a couple of speed tests tonight, we're still getting 50 down, but now 20 up on single connection tests instead of 10, and 30 up on multiple connection tests which is a bit bizarre.

Verified that it wasn't lying by checking the interface speeds in my Mikrotik routers during those tests.

Checking with Open Speed Test, it's 43/25. With Google, it's 49/18. So going by the Ookla one's first using Auckland and Christchurch servers, our upstream speed is 20 to 30 Mbps, depending on single or multiple connection tests.

Got an Email from Spark this morning, moving from 50/10 to 100/20,

It sounds like its a staged rollout, implementation was given between now and 31 July

This can be expected over the next couple of weeks.

As the rollout is staged and targets a selection of connections across the LFC networks each day, most providers are logically waiting until the completion of all circuits before updating the traffic policer policies on their BNGs.

Simply put, this means some providers will still be restricting download speeds to the original plan profiles, however upload speed generally doesn't get the same treatment as traffic is generated from the CPE side.

TL;DR, once LFCs have completed their side, all ISPs will finish their side, resulting in circuits all being boosted!

Thanks for the heads up - same here on Voyager.

Very surprised they haven't taken the opportunity to do some positive comms about it.

They must be doing them gradually as mine is still 300/100
