I am also on Dreamhost and with a shared account, but I have always gotten max download speeds from them. (400-500KB/s) but not now because Orcon is messing around with my International speeds.

Im just downloading a 500MB update from the "software update" menu and it says 30-50 mins to download!!! it's downloading at about 100-300KB/s my max is 600KB/s you would think apple would have plenty of bandwidth so im not to sure if what orcon done last night did anything with my connection or not.

After I have finished downloading the updates I will post my result of downloading firefox from your host.

Ok, done the test now.

If this is what Orcon calls "Max speed" well then it sucks :( it isn't as fast as it used to be (6 weeks ago) I don't really see any difference between today and yesterday to tell you the truth.

When I download something the speed jumps all over the place, from 50KB/s to 200, 150, 20, 300 and so on, it doesn't settle on a speed.

Nice of you to try Orcon but it needs more work.
