Those of you who have Hyperfibre 4gbps installed what speed tests do you get when testing 2degrees/Vocus Communications Sydney and 2degrees Los Angeles speed test server?

Can I just take the time to mention our brothers over in Australia who struggle to get 100Mbit on NBN (and even break past 50Mbit during peak time) and yet here's Chorus over-provisioning their 4Gbit plan to ensure we can actually get this without bankrupting ISP's with Connectivity Virtual Circuit (CVC) charges?

I think they're a little upset we get Gigabit as a common service, if somebody showed this screenshot to them all hell will break out. Quick, somebody get on Reddit and ensure they know!

Well karma or bad luck bit me in the ass pretty hard today. On the positive side, I got a message from Chorus that they'll be coming to scope. On the negative side, the date is set for the end of August. On the just downright execrable side, a $900+ parcel of 10Gb networking kit I ordered to get my little homelab ready for multigig WAN was noted as delivered and yet somehow never made it to my door. More the fool, me, for having given authority to leave without a signature. Got home literally 10 minutes after the noted delivery time. I'm so boned.

Most deliveries come with insurance. Check the courier hasnt hidden it somewhere (sometimes they do that and sign it themselves). If not, get a claim going. Might take a bit for them to process it but at least you have until August to get the gear sorted!

Authority to leave means you are making it so theyre not liable if they have proof they have left it at your property, and it turns out there is no proof of living at the place needed to set one up with courierpost.

That was my understanding. Not sure what constitutes proof, I wasn't given a picture but not all couriers do that. I'm not holding out a huge amount of hope, I made a stupid unnecessary mistake knowing full well how terrible NZ couriers can be.

Considering about 5 months ago I got home from work and the courier had left a package containing my new passport on my front doorstep, and was nice enough to sign the package himself, I really don't have great trust in the honesty of Courier drivers. 99% of them are great at their jobs and help provide a great service for us here in NZ, the other 1% well.....

Covid19 bought the wonder on 'contactless' to urban.

So often I get deliveries at wee hours of the morning, not even a knock.

Courier produced a photo of the delivery. Looks like I must have been porch pirated. I wonder how much P one could get for a box full of DAC cables and mid-tier prosumer networking kit?

In all honesty, keep an eye on your local Facebook Trading page. Guy at our work had his bike pinched from where it was chained to a bike stand on a busy street in the middle of the day. Before 5pm he found it listed on Facebook trading page for Palmy. Unfortunately for the seller the bikes owner was an ex cop and still had plenty of friends in the local constabulary.

When I check that Result ID, I get a very different speedtest. Or am I missing something?
