If the speed you are expecting (within reason) is not what you are getting then they have broken their end of the contract and cant hold you to anything

My ISP doesn't have a usage meter or provide accounting statistics in any form, so I have no real idea.

I would estimate 100-200GB per month when I'm actually at home (which is all too rare at the moment) based on the past.  I watch most of my TV via streaming services (including iTunes), and a VPN to my office is usually around 1GB/day, plus other general traffic.

No usage meter?

Who are you with? Never heard of that before.

I take it you must be on an unlimited plan, also?

I'm with StarHub - I don't live in NZ.  The plan (MaxOnline Ultimate - 100Mbps) is indeed unlimited, although it's very heavily traffic managed.

Singapore practices a unique form of pragmatic capitalism (and democracy!) which means it's miles ahead of NZ and AU in many areas (internet, heathcare, etc),

Pitty it's so hot/humid and crampt there!

I think you'll find the terms and conditions "gaurantee" you a best effort shared network service with no gauranteed minimum performance service level.

Most ISP's in the united states dont have usage meters.
It seems strange when I think about it but i guess they have never really needed them untill now.

Bit late to the party, but 25gb or 50gb, more often 50. This is because our plan on TCL bills in 25gb packs.

03 May 2010 - Today     40.28 GB
03 Apr 2010 - 02 May 2010     52.12 GB
03 Mar 2010 - 02 Apr 2010     49.88 GB
05 Feb 2010  - 02 Mar 2010    59.99 GB

I've been on the 50GB plan for a few months now, all because of Steam.
I want to go back to 20GB but I'm a sucker for the sales, and some games weigh in at 10GB each so doesn't take much to blow my cap out the water.

Don't NZ ISPs unmeter steam? All the big ISPs here (Telstra, Internode, iiNet/Westnet) have steam content servers that don't count towards your usage limit.

There are no Steam content mirrors in NZ apart from Xnet who have one hosted by Recoil (a gaming site) that is restricted to Xnet only customers.

Oh wow, there's one for the wishlist! I would love it if TCL came to the party with this one.
