I'm on Orcon DSL.

I can get a total for each billing period, but not a simple list.

I have 101GB quota / month.

For the past 6 months I've ranged between 70GB (lowest) and 100.5GB (highest).

Typically, 2/3s of my data traffic is upward-bound. So while I might see 30GB down, I'll probably have done 60-70GB up.

As long as it's in my quota, it makes no difference to me - up or down.

We have 4 very active Net users here......

What a great thread to let google dig. Hopefully some people will see the sad state that is NZ's broadband..

I used to use 15GB then 20 then now 26GB/month.

And I have a quote for such behaviour!

Nice quote and so often true. I'm thinking Canadians and their telcos and banks. If you think Kiwi telcos are pirates, you've seen NOTHING. Compared to their canadian counterparts, our three cellcos are Mother Theresa wrapped in fibre. :-)

But the data thing is all about money. I pay $128 / month for 101GB of data over DSL.

If you get rid of Sky TV, that should be affordable for a LOT of people.

I watch TV maybe 4 hours / week. I do that and more on the Internet every day.

I'm on Big time, with 5 computers, 3 kids and Missus all doing their own internet thing and I would average about 70 gigs per month. Lots of Utube etc but not much torrenting going on.

Pretty average usage, and occasional off-site backups.

"hoping" to break 409GB?

Whats your prize? a growth in your e-penis?

Sorry guys, but posts like this really bug me.

But anyway. For some reason my data usage went up to 140GB last month. not sure why, I suspect my sister has something to do with it though. I haven't changed what I download, if anything, I should have used less.

140 is still lower than my all time high though, so thats okay.

i'm normally on less than 40GB per month, but i got a big bill last month as i hit about 120GB. The increase was due to two things: downloading three pre-built virtual machines from microsoft (at 30GB+ each); and due to performing an initial backup to mozy account of 80GB of data (still continuing, given teh upload speeds of adsl)

I don't think we'll ever get unlimited internet. Sad side of the digital divide really.

I don't usually download anything close to this much. however I'm annoyed at Telecom for closing down Big Time hence the attempts to download the internet!

Averaging 140GB a month at present, thats with 6 ppl, 5 computers and 1 homebusiness.

If anything, the blame should be directed as such: 60% towards those who find it fun and worthwhile to download 500GB+ a month, and 40% towards Telecom for putting into place a plan that is effectively open-ended after what happened with Go-Large
