The Chorus map is showing Apr-2017 for my address in Auckland, however contractors have been in the street laying the duct, does this mean it could be ready sooner?  Currently i'm using ubiquiti gear to get UFB from another address 1km away.

could be sooner or it could be when it says. just because the ducting is in the street doesnt mean it will go live when they are done. They generally do a couple of areas and liven them up at once.

I hope you get it earlier than expected then maybe I might get fibre here in the first part of the next decade all being well, if they work faster.

They did the ducts in mt eden when doing the footpath up outside my old work.

2 years before it was able to be ordered on it.

Our street was marked as 2018 for UFB. Around June last year they were digging the trenches etc. The chorus website suddenly showed availability early 2016. By around the start of December it was available to order. Got ours installed end of January this year.

They are running well ahead of schedule in many areas. Keep your fingers x'd, but don't hold your breath....

Keep checking the Chorus map for timeframe indication. It will be what it says. If it is brought forwards you can celebrate. Otherwise you'll have to wait.

Sadly for us Chorus dug up our road in June/July and we're still waiting for UFB to be live

Well it looks like the contractors were laying cable only to feed further down the bottom of road, as they've been digging up the front verge about a 1km down the road, none of that yet where I am.

Where I live, the ducts were installed in October-November. Fibre only became available sometime end of January IIRC. I believe mine similar said April-2016, so maybe you'll have a similiar experience.

Mine says March 2017 and this is the view in my street today. I hope we're both pleasantly surprised.

Unfortunately, it is likely to only be available early-mid March.
