Moving up to Gulf Harbour and just wondering if anyone knows the cabinet locations.

I've been lucky to live a couple doors down from my cabinet here in Torbay and have had awesome speeds and no problems on Spark.

I just can't seem to find all the maps that were out a few years back with cabinet locations and when I drove up there I didn't seem to see any and think they are hiding.

I know of them all!
PM me addresses if you want a little look into, Also i have the data from Octobers survey thingi for copper. So it can show me what speeds your neighbors get on what service currently.

Cool beans aye.

Thanks for the link. I swear I checked that the other day and it didn't show the location...doh...

I have found the location of the cabinet.  Just one...serving all those houses

Unfortunately I do not have a address to move into yet.  Just wanted to know where it was so when I did find somewhere I knew distance from cabinet to guesstimate speeds.

I'm sure speed will be fine up there.

The Chorus address checker will give you the speed of the current connection to a property. https://www.chorus.co.nz/broadband-checker

Stick in a few surrounding addresses to get an idea for an area. Remember that most people will not have had a master filter installed, so often there is room for improvement on the xDSL connections.

You cant assume that seeing a cabinet close to where you will be living will be your serving equipment.  If you want solid information best be looked into by myself or someone with the same tool. I can let you know the cabinet name and location, Estimate speed.

Even better yet. Ask your ISP to do a prequal check and let you know the Attenuation figures.

The peninsula is a bit hit and miss with internet connectivity, I'm in Stanmore Bay on Whangaparaoa Road and get VDSL (60/10), but not able to get fiber for years, yet 500m either direction has it....  then a friend in Manly, has ADSL but nothing else until fiber is rolled out in a few years time.

Welcome to the neighborhood ;)
