Disclaimer, I'm attempting to ban evade a game

Does a ONT100 have any identifying features that it would communicate over the network? As far as I know an ONT doesn't add any packets however I'm hoping someone could confirm.

I've changed my ISP(and modem) and PC and I'm still being detected and banned.

Hi, the ONT is purely a L2 device, and Chorus only provide L2 tranport for ISP's, therefore I would be very surprised if any aspect of your "connection" followed you from one ISP to another, more likely something on your PC, ie cookies or similar

That an external company can check? No.

If you are logging in to the game with the same account, then this is how they're banning you, nothing to do with your ISP.

The only other way is that someone you play with is telling the admins your new details.

Are you using any common ID/payment methods in the game accounts? - they could be tagging these to track you usage

you have to wonder what you did to get banned in the first place.

Port identifier information can be injected and sent to the ISP and this may be used to assign static IP etc. Some ISPs may share common infrastructure e.g. Orcon and Slingshot may use same IP ranges. You may have connected the new replacement equipment while you were still connected to the old ISP as many ISPs do not require username/password and use same settings.

More likely to be something else though.

Some of the anticheat systems, especially for F2P games are very invasive software. You say you replaced your entire PC (ouch!) but did you also not use any of the same peripherals, or online accounts, or anything like that on that same PC? The amount of data that some of them allegedly send when they suspect cheating is.. staggering.

+1 to above, wouldn't be surprised if they have fingerprinted your set up from hardware IDs to MAC addresses of devices connected to your LAN.

In before lock. 😄

Some ONTs have green eyes.
Some ONTs have tattoos.
Some ONTs have a bodybuilder-like physique.

All ONTs have fibre.
No one likes a cheater.

as others have said, highly likely your dealing with fingerprinting.

I've built it into a few game servers now... far better than going by IP given the level of cgnat, dynamic ips etc..

Far more expensive for average the end user to get around too if you do it right :)

As others have said, dont cheat and it wouldn't be a problem.

or... go back to dialup and drop the ont..?

To be fair to OP, he _might_ not be a cheater, there are other reasons for bans.. albeit none of them good.
