Hi All,

We gave Sky notice that we were moving a while ago but they haven't actioned it. Now we're in our new house with no internet and Sky isn't answering live chats and cuts us off when we ring. I'm fed up with it and I'll just cancel it.

Does anyone know the quickest way I can get a connection set up with another provider? I have a 300 series ONT but I haven't used one before.

Thanks,
GV 27

PM @danfaulknor Pretty sure they've got people up and running very fast (hours). Or Quic - same thing, connected in hours.

Quic are basically entirely automated it seems.

A friend of mine switched to them then was in a bit of panic as he needed my help configuring his router for Quic - turns out, ASAP meant 2 hours switching from his old ISP. Switch went through flawlessly.

I'm not with them myself but I do 100% recommend Quic too from the experience of friends getting signed up to them.

Any RSP can request Chorus to connect an ONT within 2 hours, all comes down to their B2B Processes

Cool. Currently I'm the 14th person in a queue waiting to speak to Sky broadband about why the change of address I flagged with them in March didn't get done and why their phone system cut me off repeatedly on the weekend when I was trying to find out why.

The wait time is 114 minutes.

There is a real chance I could still be waiting when I leave for home today so if that is the case, I'll just buy a router on the way home and figure it out myself.

Do you have a router from a previous ISP? Chances are you can reuse it.

Just be prepared to pay both ISPs for a month if you are going to 'change' ISPs.
In all likelihood you have to provide a months notice before 'cancelling'

OP has an excellent case for breaking the notice period for breach of contract.

Quic seem to have usurped us as Geekzone's preferred ISP! We can't beat the efficiency (or cost effectiveness) of automation unfortunately

I recomend NOWNZ to old folk who need that extra helping hand, and fast call response on the phone.

For the geeks like us those things don't really apply and are a little pricier than what else is on the market for things you won't use as a geek.
