Since sometime between 3am and 7am this morning, my domain went down. Couldnt reach website, and my emails couldnt be sent or received.

Website is back up now  but my email is still not working.

Nothing had changed, and I sent and received emails at 11:50pm the night before no problem.

Anyoke else experiencing issues with Crazy Domain hosting at the moment?

Cheers

Mike

Are they (Crazy Domains) also related to Freeparking per chance?

One of my client's websites is offline, and looks like it's the Freeparking (gross; definitely not my choice) nameservers that are the issue…

There appears to be DNS issues happening on multiple providers at the moment, Not nationwide but impacting Spark, Voyager, One that I've seen so far.

At work we're using discountdomains and because that's related to freeparking we're also having issues with DNS

I've just been told DD and Freeparking are down this morning. As they are both part of Crazy Domains (Dreamscape Networks) I suspect Crazy Domains are having issues too. When I had issues with DD soon after the merger I shifted all of my domains and domains I manage on behalf to Metaname and I've never looked back. Had too many issues dealing with helpdesk staff who didn't seem to know how DNS worked or what a TTL was.

A mate contacted me for help with a domain his wife had setup he was having issues with - Its Crazy Domains and you can query DNS with Cloudflare servers fine using DNSCHECKER.ORG but Not google. OpenDNS also doesn't work.

Something is broken

Seeing email issues, domains hosted by CD, DP and DD are only partially propagated. So some emails will work, some won't. Invalid domain, invalid sender etc

I had an issue where no Discount Domains DNS would work on Spark (big network for NZ) and DD just kept pointing the finger at Spark. Turns out after hours of finger pointing it was a firewall issue at DD that had blocked Spark DNS servers due to a suspected DDOS because who would have thought one of NZ's biggest networks might make a lot of DNS Queries.

Fixed in seconds once they realised it was very much a them problem.

That was the beginning of me thinking of moving. The next outage they had finalised it as the "merger" of all of the companies Dreamscape purchased has been a dogs breakfast.

Looks like the Crazy Domains nameservers (ns1/ns2.crazydomains.com) are not reachable via IPv4, but are functioning over IPv6, which would explain why some users can, and some users can't, access their infrastructure.

This isn't an ISP issue.

Just done a lookup on some affected domains, they appear now, to be fully propagated from my small samples

What makes me angriest is the lack of communication. Discount Domains network status has nothing, Freeparking nothing and likewise Crazydomains NZ and AU. How can we have any faith they are working on fixing it when they don't acknowledge an issue.

Shift your domains elsewhere folks - I did to metaname.net a couple of years ago and have never looked back. Flawless - Basic service - Registrar and DNS only - No hosting or email but its better to have them with specialists / independents anyway.

I add a txt record for 365 setup and its ready for Microsoft to validate seconds after clicking ok.

Seems this is fixed now.
Caused us a lot of headaches. For stuff we don’t look after.
Using registrar DNS in the year 2025 is wild. Cloudflare is literally free.

First check using MXTOOLBOX is working now too. So probably a case of the tech in Australia finally getting to work and fixing it then ;)

EDIT: Checked a little more thoroughly - Earlier using DNSCHECKER.ORG tools to lookup using specific servers Google and OpenDNS would come back with no results where Cloudflare would work. Now they are all working.
