In my opinion, two thin bezel 27" 1440P Monitors is the best combination.

My opinion is this also, x2 27” 1440p monitors is about 5120x1440 or the same as 49” ultrawide, the join in where the bezels meet would only be annoying if you wanted to game on a screen that big but the stretch on either end of your peripheral is annoying so I wouldn’t want to on a large UW

For productivity it’s great having that extra real estate.

While you get more real estate with multiple monitors of the same resolution, I much prefer the single uninterrupted view. It is also less clutter on my desk.

I don't think that loss of pixels on either side is that noticeable when you are divvying up one screen for multi-window work. The windows might technically be smaller, but because they are clustered together, it doesn't actually feel like they are smaller. For games, it also feels more cinematic than having your view broken up by screen joins. The curve is quite minimal as well, so it just feels natural.

The only way I would move to multiple monitors again is stacked ultrawides. Or just go to a 40"+ 4k monitor.

Yeah it's much cleaner, and fewer cables.

I am running 2x 27" 4k Monitor and I swear sometimes it feels like it's too big and I can't get a good view of what's at the other end...

Yeah part of my problem was I had 2/3 of my desk space taken up by monitors and devices.  This feels less oppressive :)

Your desk is certainly cleaner than mine though!

I really need to do something about the dog's breakfast of audio cables hanging down behind as well... and just ya know, organize the various bits of audio gear...

It's certainly a robust desk to be shooting up-and-down with the gear hanging off it though.

Kicked out of my office again, very sad. I think I will try and set up an office for my wife in our caravan while she is in town for some meetings. I wonder if we should be charging her company the running expenses.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Dial111: x2 1440p 144hz AOC monitors for WFH

Very pretty, although that line in the middle would erk me slightly. Not enough to replace two perfectly good monitors, for sure... but. just. very. slightly.

The woodgrain of the desk looks nice as well. What is that keyboard btw?

Bunnings have a range of cheap but excellent looking timber panels. I used one to make my own computer desk in the corner of a dining room.

Highly recomended.

Wow, that's really nice! With some coats of a darkish varnish, it would be amazing. I wish I had the skill, time and inclination to do something like make a desk like that!

I remember seeing your desk in another thread now, when I was hunting around in May; very noice. Can't beat a solid timber desk for the cost of that slab, plus some legs.

I was tempted to do the same, but then I convinced myself I had to buy an unnecessarily fancy standing desk because money is the root cause of all my problems, so I have to get rid of it.

In the first lockdown we needed a temporary second desk. A $20 sheet of MDF on to of 4 warehouse bookcases from the garage did the nicely. Now we don't need it in the house I've relocated the whole structure in to the garage to neaten up our storage in there. It wasn't pretty but functional and so easy to sort at no notice when desks were flying off shelves.

I just did something very similar with an ikea top. It's veneer rather than solid wood or laminate but I'm very happy with it, especially for the price. I replaced the top on my exisiting desk, which wasn't as long and was much deeper.

I really wish I could find a decent tall monitor stand that wasn't NZ$200 so I could get the 27 inch monitor on a stand.
