Just started using. I already like being able to use two large windows side by side on the 34" but on this one I can have three large windows 1:1:1 or even four if I split 1:2:1.

It's pretty good as a monitor too but it shows my NVIDIA card is now old as it can only drive 5,120 x 1,440 pixels at 60 Hz - the monitor itself supports 240 Hz (the GPU can drive up to 120 Hz if I reduce resolution but then the picture isn't as sharp).

If anyone is after a cheap yet robust desk with no frills, I can wholeheartedly recommend this one from Uno Furniture. $286 shipped, arrived within a week, and was pretty straightforward to put together. Nice thick panels and uses z-nuts for nearly all of the fixings. Melamine finish is nice for it's price point.

Much better quality than the likes of warehouse stationary for cheaper, and Uno were fast to respond when I sent a query about their shipping times

I went with dual Samsung 32" 4K monitors with arms as shown above. Loctek 1800*800 standing desk from PB tech....

Would you recommend the desk?
Been looking at the smaller one.

Yes absolutely, it's very solid, easy to assemble, and controls work well.

My wife went with a much cheaper one from Mighty Ape that wasn't branded but turned out to be an older model Loctek - that one was equally well built, single motor, and took little under an hour whereas this was going in 15minutes. Hardest part was trying to recycle the mammoth honeycomb cardboard box it came in.

I'll throw in my electric standing desk experience FWIW because I haven't seen a mention of Brateck Lumi desks. I was looking at a few different models and whittled them down to the Loctek ET268 and the Brateck Lumi M06-23 (at the time both were about $650-$700 including frame and desk top). I ended up going with the Brateck because it had a wider range of heights, was faster, quieter, and held more capacity, also has a built in cable management tray. It has less warranty but I don't worry to much about this thanks to CGA. It also has a modern minimalist touch control panel instead of physical buttons, the entire display is black until you touch it then it lights up, its very responsive but those who prefer physical buttons may not like it. But FWIW these have been perfect.

Do you miss the maximise-to-screen function? I like having multiple separate screens so I can use that.

No, not really. I can have three windows side by side (Windows 11, hover over restore button, chose layout) and they are all three as large as you would get on a smaller single monitor.

My 29" ASUS monitor died and since I needed a replacement reasonably urgently, without doing too much research bought one of these

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MONBEQ77847/BenQ-EW3270U-Home-Entertainment-32-4K-UHD-HDR-Moni

It's okay,  if a bit high on its pedestal so I am looking up at the top all the time. I need to affix it to my monitor stand so I can lower it.

I can run it in 4K but in Windows 10, I find having two windows side by side is okay but it's hard to position the windows so that the key data is viewable on each. It would have been great to have two full windows from two different devices display side by side but that is not a feature available at this cost.

Perhaps I should have bought a better model with one able to display two different inputs at the same time?

I have a similar monitor.. the thing I find so handy is working on large spreadsheets. I also run classes from home so have one of these and an XP-Pen tablet as a second monitor / online whiteboard

One of the problems with one large monitor is you can't write on a PowerPoint presentation unless it is in presentation mode... and that will take over your whole screen. So again having the touchscreen/tablet for the presentation works great.

For those with a super ultrawide, try installing PowerToys and use Fancy Zones to break the screen into a grid with as many sections as will evenly fit. Then you can just press a shortcut key while dragging a window, and the grid will appear letting you size the window by how many sections of the grid you drag over. It's a game changerfor organising multiple windows on the display. I regularly have 8 small windows on the outside (4 each side of the display) and two large windows in the centre.

Thanks, when I ordered mine it was available at a lot of etailers but I think with the move to WFH and shipments slow to come in to replenish stock it makes it harder to find sites selling it, however here are a few links:

Desk Frames:

The frame comes in 3 colours (black, white, grey) and the top in 4 colours (black, white, light wood grain, dark wood grain) so you can mix and match for your preference, however I have seen PBTech package a black frame with a white desk top a few times in the past at a slightly cheaper price (maybe saving $20 or so).

I bought from who ever had the better pricing at the time and got the first frame & top (1800x750) from Elive, the 2nd desk I wanted a different size so got the frame from PBTech and a top (1500x800) from Unofurniture (unfortunately they no longer list this top on their site). FWIW I found finding 1500mm-1600mm solid tops very difficult.

Also these desks are made by Lumi so you can find out about the specs at https://www.lumi.cn/en/ they also have a couple videos about these desks on their youtube channel

Hope this helps

Those running Windows 11 also have snap layouts built-in:
