Hi,

I bought an Acer 3900 PRO motherboard on TradeMe intending to install Win XP Home Edition.

The VGA and PCI Simple Communications Controller devices will not install, even though I have the right drivers and are following the correct procedures. The Exclamation marks in Device manager remain.

I got in touch with Acer but that want AU$74.80 to give any help.  The m/b cost $35 so if all fails I can bin in and get something else.
It was bought "as it" and "no returns" so was a bit of a gamble.

But before that, thought I'd ask here in case someone's struck this before and resolved it.
