Kopkiwi: Man that isn't bad. Sell the 950 for $600 when it gets here. Or find someone here that wants it and split the cost fairly. Always wanted to try a Nokia phone to see how the camera stacks up against my note 5

Yup, that's exactly what I'm thinking of trying to do.

Only problem is you can't put in the country and have to select a US state.

US$649.00 plus the YouShop fees for repostage probably around NZ$30 then of course the GST and Clearance fees for NZ customs, my guess is about NZ$100.00 for that so...

US to NZ conversion @ about .67 about 970 give or take a little plus about 130 = NZ$1098 for a 950XL and a 950. dependent on dollar conversion and clearance fees.

I was at PB tech today, their price for a single SIM 950XL is almost that exact price

oops I forgot to add in the correct GST content so 1115.50 for the phone inc GST at NZ end plus another hundred for clearance and postage, so about 1215.5 but I think that would be an upper end costing. The trouble with clearance costs is that they are not standardized and every broker has there own charging structure.

Spark are currently offering the 950 at $1099 with a free mouse, keyboard and media sender. The unit is available on either 12 or 24 month interest free. Shame they do not have the 950XL or I would buy it.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I spend a lot of time in North America so got my phone when over there. A lot of the 'free' offers with a purchase are via the offers app and it doesn't work for a NZ MS account.

Have you encountered any pushback from sales staff? The last time I attempted to buy a phone from a store, they refused to sell it to me as they suspected it would be taken offshore which was apparently a violation of their terms of trade.

That came from two separate stores unfortunately.

The current 950 offer is very tempting and I'll be back in North America shortly.

yes it is a very tempting offer, I am contemplating going to China Via Florida, purchasing two 950's for the price of one certainly would be a sweetener.

I'd be interested in hearing how you get on with the 950XL. We've experimented with the current iteration of Continuum running on that phone very briefly, and it meets the needs of some of my colleagues.

The 950XL dual sim has been great for me and would recommend in a heart beat. The dual sim functionality works well and am very happy with the phone - the only gripe is the standard windows one in that there is a paucity of apps and the promised universal app revolution is still to arrive......if it ever does plus of course that there is no Cortana without changing your regional settings (which causes other issues). There are a few more apps available if you set your region to US and visit the app store - I also discovered that few of them (if any) stop working if you then switch back to NZ region.

950XL has not needed any support however I broke my 950XL screen today and am getting it fixed on Wed via Fonefix - will see how that goes given any reset etc needs to stick with the international firmware to keep dual sim working rather than them doing a forced load of the NZ specific firmware.

I have found that MS is not too concerned about the fact that I have purchased my phone and my MS Band 2 overseas for use in NZ. The Band in particular has had a few problems (I am on to my third since Dec 15) with the first one replaced with help from MS NZ whilst the second I replaced as a walk-up to a MS Store in the US.
