Just out of curiosity what screen brightness are you using? I accidentally left mine on high contrast for the better part of the day and the battery has drained like a crazy thing compared to normal

mine always set to Auto.

Btw, ekud, just to let you know that I uninstalled ALL battery monitoring apps. I don't feel like I need to know the percentage left anymore. That is how great the battery is.

I've had a couple of freezes - I am tempted to take it back if I don't see things sorted out; IMHO Nokia really needs to get its act together rather than shipping too little product in volume and when done they're riddled with bugginess up the wazoo. I kind of regret not waiting for the HTC 8S IMHO as it seems to be a much better phone with a lot less problems.

could be the installed app issue?

I always use mine in Medium... I don't like the Auto because of the brightness fluctuation.

Just picked up my white 920 from parallel today. So far so good, although coming from a 3 year old AMOLED SGS I, I am thoroughly disapointed in the screen  Frown . Blacks are grey, colours seem to be a little off and viewing angles are relatively poor.... now that I look at it, even the three touch buttons under the screen arent a bright white but infact an off yellow/beige. Almost like stepping back in time 5 or 6 years tbh

I'll get over it, bit of a downer though...

On the plus side, the refresh and smooth scrolling is great, and of course the touch sensitivity is awesome, a direct result of the *non* AMOLED screen

The black is indeed a little dissapointing.

Cheers Duncan

It looks like the Portico update for Telecom-branded 920s is now on NaviFirm, RM-821 > 1232.5951.1249.1006, if anyone is feeling daring.

I have no applications installed other than the default ones (I have uninstalled the extra applications installed by Nokia). I'm going to give the 1006 build a go to see if things improve. I'm wondering whether in the end it is a hardware issue or something related to software given that it appears most people here don't seem to have a problem with their Nokia 920.

Btw, don't upgrade your Nokia Suite to the latest version as the new version requires you login - once again Nokia proving why I should have gone for the HTC because of their paranoia over people actually being able to restore their phone without needing to send it away and wait for weeks and weeks and weeks.

Reading between here & wpcentral.com it appears these handsets are riddled with heaps of issues. From my experience, im beginning to think that its rare to get a working one. In my office 3 people have brought them Only 1 works fine. Im about to go for my 3rd and a work mate got one last week, has his attached to a charger all the time and is about to return it.

Hi all.  Long time lurker in this thread, first time posting.

Recently got a white 920 from pbtech (christmas present!!), after having my eye on it as the best replacement for my 3GS.  The overall design and screen have met my expectations, far superior feel to any android device, and possibly even better than the iP5.

Being a parallel import it's running a HK firmware - is there any benefit at all to me flashing a NZ or other firmware?

Can anyone update me on the text message timestamp issue mentioned earlier in the thread?

Really hope that MS and Nokia are working hard on improvements to the OS, it does feel a bit clunky, in an Android 1.x kinda way.  Would like to see it get to the slickness level of jellybean without having to wait 5 years!

I've had some freezes since updating so I'm giving the unbranded ROM a go to see how things work out.

Woke up this morning to my new and 3rd and last Lumia! Ordered red from telecom since dse gave my cash back after last 2 units. To my suprise I was given a free wireless charger! So they're off to a good start!
so the best way to do this? Charge it fully before? or use until it runs down whatever is in there?

wish me luck! I really want this one to work lol
