PottsyNZ: As Tested.com said nicely...even at fires sale prices....do you really need a touchscreen video player and web browser?

Nope ;)

ignishin: Turns out JB-Hifi never sent back stock.

Latest mailer has them advertising the 16GB for $797 and the 32GB for $900-something.

Did it occur to you that they didn't print those mailers last night?

Did I offend your JB Hifi mailer-loving side?

In what way does this sort of question help this thread?

Back to topic, please.

Did anyone hear anything new in regards to stock levels?

I thought i WAS helping by providing some info on what I had seen in a mailer. I was met with some backhanded snarky response.

But if you'd like, I can keep any info I might hear in the future to myself.

Probably time to let this go anyway.

I'm still tossing up whether I should order from MobiCity or not...

All comments are my own opinion, and not that of my employer unless explicitly stated.

Same here. Touchstone charger on the way, no TouchPad to use it with. :)

I've personally decided the device is not worth $300 to me. YMMV of course.

I am also aware this decision may have priced me completely out of the market. If I was HP and I was able to secure more stock, I'd be trying a higher price point. Not a biggie; just means we're back to square 1 WRT what to get our daughter for Christmas.

You got some snarky response. It happens. Keeping the cycle going does not help.

We appreciate whatever valid information you post, but please try to avoid going into these personal attacks. :)

Made my daily call to JB HiFi. Still no decision on whether they're selling their stock or returning it.

So they still have stock? Interesting.

Will they sell at the original price?

HP NZ's Facebook page says they have no more stock in NZ... But Facebook is hardly the forum for official announcements! I guess they may just be talking about retailers that *are* selling at the discounted price

Can anyone tell me the cheapest price they have purchased the touchstone charger and/or the genuine HP case for?
Am after accessories, but seems to be a big variation in prices?

Not sure. The guy yesterday strongly hinted that any stock they were allowed to sell would be snapped up by staff.
