Sorry :-(

As it is, this has distracted me from work most of the morning. I hope you all understand why I had to limit it to 20.

I'll keep you all informed via this thread, and if we do secure a decent deal from Mobicity (still haven't heard from them), others may be able to do the same.

I put the request in for 23x16GB and 4x32GB. I'm still yet to hear back from Mobicity, but will post here as soon as I know any more.

Something about this group buy... What happens to GST? Bringing this in bulk to a single address will make it attract GST when customs stops it at the border. Or is their price incl GST?

Also just received an email from Mobicity with TouchPad at $299 each... ouch.

I thought Mobicity was a NZ-based company. Are they not?

$369 for 32GB TouchPad is not bad, but still beyond reason to me.

Just live chatted mobicity they are definately getting in 500 x 16gb and 200x 32gb, good luck with your group deal, if I hadn't jumped the gun on my order I'd be keen but ah well. I've already paid so too late! Good luck with a good price.

That is a good point, and one that I'll have to clarify. Their webpage isn't clear on that.

If the order will attract GST, I'll have to collect that from each individual in this group buy. My initial plan was to have everyone pay Mobicity directly, but I may need to be flexible on that and have them direct deposit me first, and I pay the Mobicity order in full. This way people can include the GST amount for me to pass on to Customs. The problem I see with that approach is that it will increase the time it takes to pay Mobicity, and Geekzone users may feel uncomfortable sending their money to a random Internet weirdo.

As it stands, I've still not heard anything from Mobicity, so it may all be a moot point anyway.
