This is a review unit, which means they should be in shops pretty soon. I will try and find the date.

Things like:
Speed on Vodafone vs Telecom
Can it get ALL updates from Microsoft or are they carrier distributed meaning if you use it on Vodafone you get no updates.

cant comment on network speed, and this should be irrelevant regarding the device

all Windows Phone updates go through carrier approval. In this case if you used it on VF , Telecom would still be approving updates. Or you reflash with an Open Market ROM and do your own thing.

All Telecom phones have 4G disabled until they roll out 4G. So in this case there will be an over the air update that enables LTE at launch.

Well I unboxed mine last night.

Mine is yellow (very very yellow).

Box Contents:
Handset
Headphones (in ear, 3 sizes of rubber bits, also very yellow)
SIM tool
some paper
USB-Power Adapter (small, plug on the side)
USB Cable

Initial Impressions: Beautiful Handset, screen is great. Resolution if just right for me.

Doing write-up for telecomtech tonight.

Has anyone tried a Telecom supplied 1020 on Vodafone yet? I see NZTechfreak's parallel import works fine, I was just wondering if the Telecom ones did too.

I'm using one on Vodafone. No 4G but that's it. No reason why it wouldn't seeing it's WCDMA 850/900/1800/2100 MHz.

Sweet, thanks freitasm.  I couldn't see a reason why it wouldn't go well, but nothing like confirmation from someone using it :)

Do you think that means they'll be in the shops as well or just on the site?
