Never experienced that rapid-discharge problem, sounds like a faulty phone. I ran GPS,Bluetooth and WiFi for 6 hrs, 1 hr of radio on loudspeaker, took about 20 photos and 20 min of video, made some calls, still had 3 bars of battery left.
I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.
Doubtful, has occured on two different phones manufactured at different times and locations and with different firmware revisions.
Others have reported this problem also. Bear in mind that I have had a bit more hands on (and washing machine on) time with this phone than most people.
It does not occur all that frequently, I have had it happen a total of three times - twice on the old hand set and once on the new. Three times over 10 weeks in other words.
Oh also that reminds me, I have a brand new boxed N95 sitting here for sale if anyone wants. This was the insurance replacement for the one I washed...I went out and bought one the next day so this one is surplus. Unopened and NZ warranty, PM me if any of you non n95 owners are interested.
Fraktul, Did you manage to fix the "washed one" out of interest?
Mine is fine for battery life, bit poor but pretty good considering the usage I give it.
Just check things like Email connection intervals and of course, other running software, mine lasts for 3 days while idle in bad coverage. (over weekend)
Heh, the sreen turned on for a brief second once then twas no more. Insurance company wanted it when I made the claim unfortunately, otherwise I would have had fun pulling it apart.
I just got mine today and the volume down button doesn't work! Holy Crap! I am pissed off!
I can set the volume up but if I push the down button I dont feel any "click" and it doesn't turn down.
I dont believe this could happen! After so much waiting! And dont ask where I work! :)
If you slide down the phone and use music player then you cant adjust the volume with the keypad, only with the dedicated volume buttons on the side of the phone... :(
Does anyone else find that the maps application lags a lot and sometimes freezes for a bit while zooming when you are using detailed maps? This is really starting to get on my nerves.
Can't beat the burble of that American V8. Ohh yea!
NZtechfreak: Has anyone here tried Route 66? I hear the latest version is compatible with the N95's internal GPS unit, was wondering how their maps are?
For the price, I don't think it's worth it. The Maps don't seem to look any better than Nokia's ones. They don't have NZ map coverage do they? Only Australian (for this part of the world).
So on stuff.co.nz they said that more detailed kiwi maps will be available next year.
I wonder what is their source of information?
"More detailed Kiwi maps will be available next year, which will include tourist attractions and other points of interest, so you'll be able to search for things that are nearby."
Well that's good news, but next year is a long time to wait, especially when people are paying $1500 for it from Vodafone. If I had bought it from Vodafone, I would be annoyed.
