Hello, I hope someone here can help with my problem.

I use a iPaq 4150 which I have been desperately trying to connect to my desktop via the bluetooth profile "network access" of my avm BT dongle. Both the iPaq and the desktop (XP/SP2, fully updated) form a network but shares established on the desktop are not visible on the pda. From my perspective this has to do with the fact the two devices cannot ping each other.

What am I doing wrong? BTW, push profiles (OBEX-PUSH/FTP) work flawlessly, but I want to browse the shares on the desktop. I disconnected the XP firewall to see if this prevented the devices from pining each other but without success.

Thank you for any assistance.

Gulliver.

The shares are not visible without some little help. Try Resco File Explorer and you should be able to map a share from your PC - if your PC is visible.

As for not being able to ping, it could be a firewall issue and you should check this. Are you able to ping other hosts or access the Internet?

Mauricio,

I am already using the Resco FE but trying to map a share over its functionality has failed as well (no shares available).

In regard to a potential firewall issue I turned it off and experienced the same problem. I will try others hosts if they cn be reached by a ping but fear to be encountering the same trouble.

I jsut tried to ping other sites throug vxutils but it failed ("cannot find host").

Looks like there is a connection between the ppc and the desktop but it cannot be used.

Hope someone has an idea what this is about?

rgds.
