The Microsoft Account I've got my phone configured is also the same I use for logging into outlook.com.  However when I check the account settings on the phone, it's only configured to sync email.

The calendar and contacts check boxes aren't visible either.

This used to work just fine on my Lumia 800 running 7.5 and 7.8, but for some stupid reason my WP8 820 doesn't give the option.

Other accounts (work Exchange, Gmail etc..) all work fine.  Just not the one I really want.

Going into calendar and People Apps show the accounts registered, but they just don't sync.

Any suggestions?

Is there anything special about the account? Is it a custom domain etc?

Interesting. I see the same on my Hotmail account being used as the primary Live Id on my device. I am not too worried as I have everything on Office 365, but I can imagine it could be pretty annoying if you do rely on the Outlook.com service instead.

In my case it's a vanilla hotmail.com account, not custom and like Dustin it shows Email sync only. No contacts or calendar.

But... If I create an appointment on Hotmail/Outlook.com it shows up in my phone. And if I create a contact it shows up in my phone.

So it appears you can opt-out of email sync, but you can't opt-out of contacts and calendar sync.

That sounds right Mauricio

I've just hard reset my WP8 and added an Outlook MSA onto to the phine and I can turn off email synching, but contacts and calendar are synching

Dave can you confirm? Did you check if contacts & calendar are synching?
