Have been an Android user for a few years and have now bought a Nokia Lumia 820.  Only canon print app is missing and decent ereader.  now on android I was able to have a phone contacts list separate from all social media apps contacts. On WP8  I cant find any way to have a separate phone only contacts list. I dont like all facebook etc contacts all in my people app and having to try and find the phone contact amongst all the contacts.   Is there a way to have all social media contacts in one list and another list just for main phone contacts.

i guess you could either configure so that social media contacts dont appear in the people list, or create a group and manually add phone-contacts to it

In the People app, there is an option to "Filter my contact list". If you tap that option, you have a choice of showing contacts from:

- Hotmail
- Facebook
- Nokia account

"Hotmail" is actually the list of contacts I've set up in the phone, which is a shortened list that I scroll through when using the buttons on the steering wheel of my car. I have the "Facebook" option unticked, so I don't have to wade through endless Facebook friends whom I have no intention of calling. I don't know what is the purpose of "Nokia account", but it doesn't seem to do any harm, so I've left it ticked.

Hopefully, one or more of those options will do what you are looking for.

If it is possible to create a group and add.  I guess I will look deeper.  Google didnt help.  Overall , so far I like this.  Bit of learning curve after android.
