HiYa,

Please be nice as I am new to all of this....

Recently got a N95

Software version is v21.0.016 (14-02-08)

I have Maps v2.0 wk26 b02 loaded & Map Loader v2.0.2 loaded on the computer, I am using PC Suite v 7.0.7.0 (Running Vista Ultimate) I HAD the Nseries PC Suite loaded but Map Loader said this was not compatible and to download the latest version of Nokia PC Suite (in which I believe is v 7.0.7.0).

(If there is any further information that i have missed that you require please let me know).

Ok so I plug phone in via USB – Select PC Suite mode – Open Map Loader and all it does is sit there flashing “Waiting for device” and does nothing else – I have changed the way I do this (open Map Loader first, plug in phone and select PC Suite mode to no avail.

Am I currently running the most up to date maps already?

If I am then I am in trouble as 8 out of 10 of the roads in Taranaki do NOT show on the map (and I am not talking about NEW roads, I am talking about roads that have been here for decades..... there is NO way the current maps I have can be used to navigate anything in this region.

Any help would be greatly appreciated – I can follow simple instructions (I hope)

Hi... When using the Map Loader, DON'T use PC Suite Mode. Use Data Transfer and it will be all sweet.

Why the heck does it say put phone in PC Suite Mode from the pop up from MapLoader its self? Grumbles mumbles.

Wow will go and try that now :)

Hmm Bugga - it gets one step further and is now stuck on a blinking message "Updating drive information for drive H:\"
Been like this for 30 mins or so now.

Ok so i closed the program and tried to reopen it all i get now is an error message as soon as the splash screen pops up saying "MapLoader20 has stopped working" Check online for a solution and close the program OR Close the program.

I now get this every time i try to open Map Loader
1. Yes i have disconnected the phone and tried to do the steps again.
2. Yes i have rebooted the comptuer and tried again as well.

Maybe i should try to reinstall Map Loader....

Ok uninstalled MapLoader - Rebooted PC - Ran a registry cleaner and made sure there were no folders left in program files - Reinstalled MapLoader.
Atempted to run MapLoader and all i get is the repeat of the MapLoader splash screen pops up and then goes away - and i get this error "MapLoader20 has stopped working" Check online for a solution and close the program OR Close the program.

I am starting to get very frustrated....

Any and all help appreciated.

Start maps 2.0 on the phone, then shut it down, then run map loader again... It should fix this.

This isn't necessary with Map Loader 2.0.2

Mine will not accept use with MapLoader in PC Suite Mode (even though it tells you to put it in that mode)
I ended up uninstalling MapLoader - reg clean r- eboot (downloaded new copy of maploader) and install again (to make sure everything was just right) then i followed jeffthechefs instructions and i would like to say a BIG thanks :)
Finally for the first time this has worked. I don't know why it won't run in PC Suite mode though, but i can live with that as long as it does work - i have downloaded the latest maps and will see if they are any better than what i had tomorrow morning.

Thanks to all that have helped me - it IS appreciated a lot!!

Update - WOW - All my missing streets are NOW there, so the new map certainly made a world of difference!!!
