Pokemon Go Plus is currently available in the Nintendo eBay store. With shipping, it's $65 AU. I've ordered one for each family member playing the game, by checking out as a guest and using different delivery names, email addresses and payment methods (although my credit card payment still got confirmed with PayPal email, so I hope it doesn't trigger a match with the one I actually chose to pay for with PayPal). The rule is one per Ebay account, and duplicates will be cancelled, so I am hoping all my orders stick - they are genuinely for different people, it's just that one's at work and one's at school (and is too young to shop online). I suspect they'll be all sold out by tonight, so get in quick!

Thanks for the heads-up, I managed to order one.

Just ordered as well. Might see about starting to play it again on my old note3 since it hates the china phones with them being rooted.

With approx 80% off all spawns now Halloween related, I am actually missing Pidgey/Weedle and Rattata

They are so much easier to catch than the Halloween spawns, which means I can do more evolutions which means faster XP growth (as I try to get to level 30)

I am also missing all of the other common spawns as it would have been nice to get a few more candies for those triple evolutions I want to do once I find those perfect L30 Pokemon with high IV's ...

I see there are a lot of Cubones spawning at my house, which is good because I'm still missing Marowak from my Pokedex (I have 15 or 16 to go of the ones available in NZ). I'm getting a lot of candy but so far don't have one worth evolving. I have an amazing Haunter I can't wait to evolve into a Gengar, so this weekend should be good for that. I already have a Gengar but it's rubbish.

That was quick, yesterday I heard that FPM was back and today Niantic forced an update which once again forced FPM to be taken offline
Although with 80% of all spawns for the Halloween event being one of five types of Pokemon, the only use for scanners was to map nests as I doubt anything rare will actually show up (at least in Dunedin)

Last night I spent two hours trying to get my Plus to detect Pokemon and Stops ... after going through every option, I found it was an issue on the server
Thankfully fixed by the time I woke up.

That explains why FPM stopped working again today.
Mostly Gastly, Drowzee and Cubone in Wellington this week.  Though making the most of 4x walking multiplier by getting some extra Snorlax Candy far more easily than usual.

I am getting an epic amount of Meowth spawning. I already have a couple of excellent Persians so they're not much use to me. Still trying to find a better Cubone to evolve into a Marowak. I have more than enough candy now. I'm walking my Geodude so that I can evolve my Graveler into a Golum. Candy every 250m is very helpful! After that I'll probably switch to Vulpix so I can get a Ninetails. My son and I will probably be doing a lot of hunting this weekend!

Damn it, the Plus is once again not picking up any Pokemon or Stops ... last time it wasn't an issue as it happened before I slept
Today however I am about to head out and about .. and now manually have to look at my phone which is way slower.

Testing however to see if the Plus still tracks distance while connected (with screen off) as my guy is walking around and around the block at work due to GPS drift.

I don't see any reason why this game is so popular. I can't find anything to like about this game, except for it's name.

Just because I'm a fan of Pokemon doesn't mean I have like the Pokemon Go game.

I don't like this game at all.

Over the weekend I completed the walk with my Dratini to get enough candies for Dragonite.

While out getting a coffee yesterday I spotted one on the nearby list and spent 10 minutes to track it down. Managed to catch - just over CP2000, but only 51%IV
With a couple of egg hatches I managed to also complete the candies needed to evolve Charmander and Vulpix, and am now walking my Grimmer to get enough candies for the evolution.

I expect the Halloween event to end in a couple of hours - I'll miss the extra candy and less buddy distance, but I will actually be glad to see more than 5-6 Pokemon types on the map again

Depends on when the timing of the event is based on.  Could be on US time which may give us until tomorrow?
Still walking my Snorlax to grab quick candy for it while I can.

I managed to walk my Vulpix enough to get a Ninetails and now my Dratini is walking with me. I won't get enough to evolve a Dragonite, but I've left it running on my iPad while I work so that GPS creep will get me as many candies as possible. I also hatched a Shellder the other day which gave me almost enough candies for a Cloyster. The extra candies have been great. Speculation is already rife about a Christmas event, which has apparently already been coded into the game. Popular theory seems to suggest that there will be extra spawns of ice-type Pokemon and Ponyta (good news for anyone still needing a Lapras or Rapidash) and extra item drops.

I'm really looking forward to my Pokemon Go Plus arriving this week (sadly the event will be over) so I can clock up lots of extra km by wearing it all day. I'm also keen to see whether YouTuber AliA's theory that it has a longer range is true. He said if a Pokestop is on your screen, it'll collect it, which would be awesome. I have no Pokestops within current range of my house, but when my character GPS creeps to the bottom of the street it gets to within a couple of hundred meters of one on the opposite hill. If I could pick that up a few times a day it would be a huge help. I've been going through Pokeballs like crazy and I'm running out of eggs again.

I managed to just hatch a Porygon from an egg - a brand new Pokemon for the 'dex (so happy!!)
Now I just need to find a high IV Grimer (and CP) and get enough candies to evolve a Mux, and either find or hatch a Hitmonlee to complete the New Zealand 'dex

The extra range on the Plus is very real - it can notify you about a stop or Pokemon before it is actually in range
In the last week however there have been several outages of the Plus which means it does not detect anything, and over the last few days I have had to disconnect/reconnect the Plus to make it work (not sure if this is server side or a device issue)

Ooh, excellent. Does it pull the location data from where your player is in the game on your device? If so, I might be in luck.

I believe the outages have been server side. AliA (who has been documenting his use of the Plus in his vlogs) reported his was not functioning at times during the Halloween event.
