180 Pokemon in one day ... I am going to miss these 6 hour lures

Walking through the Otago University at lunchtime, the entire area around the clock tower was lit up with lures, my poor little Go Plus could not keep up!

It's really nice to see people getting into the game again, if only for a short time. I'm very satisfied with my event catches. I'm on 12 or 13 Chanseys now - four have spawned in reach of my house! Plus those two Porygon hatches - I think I have sufficient candy for Blissey and Porygon 2, plus good evolution candidates.

There's been some speculation on The Silph Road reddit about spawn diversity improving. I thought I'd noticed a better range in my street. We have a creek running close to the house which has a water spawn point I can reach when I drift close enough that normally pops out Magikarp, Psyduck and Tentacool at half past the hour. In the last few days I've caught a Shellder and at least 3 Dratini there. Though perhaps that's because I've had the game running more due to the event. But, I've also noticed water Pokemon spawning at a couple of spawn points across the road from the creek that normally produced only the standard stuff like Pidgey, Spearow and Paras. Now they're popping out the odd Psyduck and Magikarp too. I need to do more research on that. I've been trying to record what time each spawn point delivers a Pokemon, and what kind they are.

Managed to get 216 Pokemon yesterday; for some reason that really pleases me - did some evolutions and then ground the rest into candy.

Water Pokemon near water seem to be hard to find in Dunedin of late; really wanted some Magikarp and Dratini while the event was on to get more candy and a chance to get a high IV, high level to do another evolution.

And today GPS sucks! When the game started my character was always standing where I physically was (ie, very accurate GPS). Even with a phone change this continued to be the case. Over the last month I have gradually moved around the corner and across the road - thankfully still near a PokeStop. Today I have moved just a few metres further away and now do not touch a PokeStop ... as a result, no 6 hour lure for me.

So excited! And almost out of Pokeballs after the Valentine's event, lol.

Woohoo, really looking forward to seeing new silhouettes on the map and then starting the grind on all of these new Pokemon! Does mean that the play style will move from PoGo Plus catching to manual catching until I have gotten enough candy.

Have already downloaded the new version of the app, which adds in some visual changes when trying to manually capture Pokemon, and some style options.

Hopefully soon they add in some tab or something to switch between Kanto and Johto Pokemon in the Pokemon storage and with the new berries, some additional storage for both slots would be great.

GPS is being really weird; I've just been transported out to the middle of the Otago Harbour, somewhere near Port Chalmers.

Then over to the railway station where I hung around a bit before slowly walking through Queens Gardens to the Exchange - this is all a good 500m from where I actually am.

Only benefit was being able to complete some egg hatches before the event ended (ended around 10.30am, some 2.5 hours after it was supposed to)

I'm far too excited about this for a woman of my age, lol. I'm part way through level 29 so I'm looking forward to the extra XP that comes with new Pokemon, and I suspect I'll be putting the lures and lucky eggs I bought at Christmas to good use. I'm so stoked I got all that Chansey and Porygon candy during the Valentine's event. I think I have enough for the all Gen2 evolutions like Crobat, Slowking, etc., but it'll be interesting to see which of those need evolution items, and when those start popping out of Pokestops. Looking forward to my avatar being less generic, too. I think my biggest challenge will be learning all the new Pokemon. I looked at them a bit around Christmas, but I've forgotten most of them. Still awaiting the updates to become available on my iPad, iPhone and son's Huawei ShotX.

I received a Pokemon encyclopedia book for Christmas which lists all the different Pokemon, how to pronounce their names, evolutions, etc. Very handy for someone that has never played the main games!

Oh, yes, I bought that for my son! I must unearth it from his room and do some study. I am new to Pokemon as well. I never expected to love it so much.

Also new to Pokemon but getting more mileage (literally) out of the game than I thought I ever would.  Outlasted my 18 year old daughter who is a walking encyclopedia of Pokemon.

Currently sitting at 144 in the Pokedex with 3 more I can get by walking and possibly one or two others that I haven't yet come across.  So that'll get superceded by the Gen 2 release.

Yep, me too. Caught a Natu so far. Servers appear to be struggling under the load.

Oh ma, I'm too slow for this game, I've only got 99 of the originals! At least the have fixed the bug where it would crash trying to open the stat page.

Short lunch walk.  Saw 7, caught 5 new ones.  The other two ran away.

Two new berry types.  Nanab - Feed to calm it.  Pinap - Makes it drop more candy.

Rather than staying centered in the catch screen I've seen at least one move to the side, so that'll be an interesting twist.

Should up the interest levels for a while again.
