jasonbug: The warehouse apparently has two separate pre-order supply chains.
If you ordered in store they will be available for pickup on the day, however if you ordered online they don't leave their online fulfilment centre until the 12th so won't be available to collect from a store for another 2-4 days after that.

Seems a bit strange.

Online orders will be available to collect from stores on the 12th.

Phew, that is what I would expect, who told you that?
I just got off chatting to their support that said online "click and collect" orders will take another 2-4 days to get into stores.

So received two emails from Mighty Ape yesterday saying that my dual controller charger and head set has a new eta of 3/12 due to "Production being delayed". Still seems like my console and extra controller are on track though.

Unfortunately that's the case across all NZ and Aus retailers for the headsets & docks.
The shipment from Sony was delayed.

Just imagining the PR disaster on Sony's hands if their ends up being last minute shipping/production delays on the console itself. Oof. I would imagine retailers like ebgames and mightyape probably have at least some of their stock already though.

Apparently its been confirmed the PS5 will not support 1440p. Its either 1080p or 4k. No in between. If enough people ask for it though I see no reason why they couldn't add 1440p support through a patch and then Sony make's themselves look like the good guy for listening to the fans down the road.

2 live chat sessions have told me 2-4 days AFTER release day which is so dumb. Screw the warehouse if that is the case. Literally the only store in the country to not actually have them available on release day

I'm not trying to be a dick I mean I genuinely hope live chat is wrong and I can collect on the day but do you 100% know for a fact? Otherwise don't get my hopes up!
