That price just blows me away. It doesn't even appear to be the deluxe version.

Both Microsoft and Sony already made it public some time ago that next gen games would be around 10% more expensive.

This is very much on its own compared to all other PS5 games and is like 50% more expensive tham last gen. If it was the special edition version I wouldn't be surprised but it's not, it's in some cases more expensive than other PS5 special editions...

I suggest getting Godfall on the epic game store on pc if you really want to play it at launch. Its $70 USD which works out $103 NZD. Way cheaper than the physical copy.

Lots of current gen games are $110-$120 at launch for non-SE.  Maybe not physical but definitely digital.

Yeah I saw that, cheers. I'm not actually interested in the game, really not my thing, I was just making a comment on the price compared to the other launch games - it's certainly an outlier.

What? Microsoft have tried to keep next gen games the same price, hence the whole smart delivery thing.  Majority of Series games coming out are the same price as the Xbox One version, with the exception of certain greedy publishers such as 2K and Activision who are charging more.

I am, I didn't preorder but I will get the disc edition eventually. I'm going to dig out my Launch PS3 and sell it on trademe as it seems the backwards compatible versions sell for decent money.

The 1st reviews Ive read are heaping praise on the dualsense controller

I am quite excited. I am significantly disappointed at the lack of available disk space, and the fact that they haven't certified drives to upgrade it with as yet.

I've got the XSX and PS5 preordered and toying with selling the XSX as there's just very little out to get me that excited this year. PS5 sounds like they've nailed the controller and I can't wait for Demon's Souls :)

I don't know why people buy a console for what is available on day 1?  It's potentially a 7 year console so to judge it by what games are available for it in it's first couple of months vs which console is better/you prefer over the generation is odd.

But if you can sell it for $200+ more than you paid then it's hard to turn down when in the case of the XSX you're not missing out on much by waiting 2-3 months to buy one once they're readily available.

Ah so you're just a scalper then?

I'd argue they knew it was coming out for at least 3 Years, the time it's been in development. They would have had a target release time. They would have shortened the odds on release dates considerably over that time. There are no shortage of developers willing to take MS's or Sony's money, who could have come up with great console release day titles, and Sony has done this with a couple of decent titles. MS has been late to the party not once, but now twice, despite thier considerable stable of IP and massive resources. It's poor form.

That's a bit of a leap of logic, I preordered because I wanted one for myself at launch but if you've done any reading of XSX reviews it's apparent that there really is little to get excited about if you already have an X1X.

As I said in my post, I'm toying with it and frankly if you wanted to be a scalper then the XSX would be a bad choice as there's still stock expected pre-xmas. PS5 are likely to be going for well over $1,000 even digital only. I've got no intention to sell my preorder as there's plenty day 1 that I know I'll want to play.
