Except for those who might have taken a chance on Intel Arc ,but of course there aren't that many of those.

TBH from what i have heard the drivers for Intel are generally getting better but they are a long way off being generally ready for any game that comes out.
I hope peope that bought Arc knew they they will be in for a rough ride until Intel has built up that driver and experience levels in their GPU products.
AMD had loads of driver issues until pretty recently, even Nvidia has the occasional issues.
gehenna:It's a remarkably un-buggy experience at launch.
OK I'm ~20 hours in. I have progressed about 3 quest lines and a few ad-hoc events I came across on some planets. I am definitely getting into a groove with it all now. Combat is fluid and fun, and space flight/battles are getting better and better the more competent I am, and the more I figure muscle memory for the systems.
I've heard some say the best way to play is to go through the main quest fully, then start NG+ and do the side quests. Seems to be reasonable given you get most things you need in the game from the main quest line, so it's not like you need to grind for hours just to get a specific skill or weapon etc, the things you need come to you as part of the story. I may do that myself, depends how much more I have left in the main questline.

Just saw this Forbes story (edit: link fixed) which seems well-informed and well thought-through - and which suggests that the quick play-through approach may not be a great idea.

@eracode your link didn't work ended up a link on the quote?
Seems the guidance is to play to a certain point in the main story to get a few skills etc, then go wider and explore

Played a few more hours last night and very much in the swing of things now. Nabbed two really great ships within about 90 min of each other, and played through a couple of great quests. Really enjoying it now.

[Pre-ordered from] MA are promising day-before shipping so that it arrives on release date. Ha - will see how that goes - nice thought but will believe it when I see it. I’m only 20 km from them on the North Shore.
Maybe my scepticism is unfounded - MA have just advised that it’s with the courier.

In 20 years of regularly buying day one release games from MA, I have missed out on 1 delivery.
I must say though, if missing out on a game day one would seriously be a problem for me, I'll either go and collect it from a local store in person, or arrange same day delivery, as part of my Prime Ape membership.

Courier has confirmed that it will be delivered today. I feel a bit bad about maligning MA but that was based on a prior experience. I'll leave them a nice review on Google Maps to make amends.
Anyone else expecting to receive or pick up a hard copy today?

I'm getting exactly what I need out of this game.... something I can dip into for an hour or two in the evenings to play a single questline or just be a scoundrel for a while, then leave again until the next night.

Great to hear that - some people have been concerned that dipping like that would not be feasible.
