Control?

Yeah, I got it and started playing it but found it a bit weird. Perhaps I'll have another go.

I'd love something like GOW or Spiderman, or something really amazing, but I think I've burned through most of the highest rated games for PS4. A Batman game, or something would also be awesome, but did that already too. That Star Wars game got good reviews but I found it hard work, perhaps I should look into that again. Pity 2077 isn't out yet!

If MS gets the patch together for FS2020 I may actually have a chance to play that.

I've been playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint of late. Some quirky controls and views to get used to initially but overall the solo campaign has been very entertaining and immersing. There's a ton to do.

You can toggle AI team mates on now which can be very useful in tight spots, but also provide some crazy god mode skills. They can walk right past enemies and no one notices. You can tag enemies on the other side of a base with your drone and they'll be able to target and kill them. Funniest thing is, whilst enemies will see the resulting dead bodies, they don't raise an alarm if they're killed by your squad. You can pick off an entire base with your drone and some patience. Use sparingly ;-)

The second mission series loops in Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell fame, that was really cool to stumble into that without knowing first. I'm finding it a very enjoyable tie in, with Michael Ironside's unmistakable voice.

Ni No Kuni Remastered

So far, I have very mixed feelings towards this game. Like most JRPGs, it's plagued by the Overdone Disease. In this case, the voice acting and all that is not bad. What I cannot stand is how utterly boring the world traversal and ludicrously unyielding to the preciousness of the user's time it is. As you walk backwards and forwards doing errands and bounties, you are just forced to battle wave after wave of mostly useless enemies in battles that are snore inducing.

As you get new familiars/pets that fight for you, they start at level 1 even when you might be level 15 or whatever. So you need to grind for a long time and level up (albeit on an accelerated basis for the newbie whilst it sits out all the battles) your new friend whilst using your other familiars. So far there are practically no side quests aside from boring errands and bounties that require you to go out of your way and suffer the inconvenience above just to grind/level up. And level up you must because the difficulty curves can be very inconsistent. 90% of the game is easy beyond belief but all of a sudden the odd minor boss can be very difficult, whilst another main boss can be easily one-shotted.

As a game, it's pretty hopeless. But the story, music and art style do combine to have a rather strong pull. But I am just taking it in around 1.5 hour chunks max just to see out the story. When it's over, I suspect I will be glad for it. It's beyond me why so many people consider this an absolute classic.

Somewhere along the line I ended up with Mafia II remastered in my library......  so been playing through that (again) - looks much nicer than the original release ;)

Always liked the first two MAfia games, not played #3. The end of the second game has a nice (as in story telling) link back to the first game.....

ooh, theres a remastered version? I loved Mafia 1 and 2. Might have to go get me some remastered action to play after COD MW1 and 2 remastered. I believe Sniper Elite 2 was remastered as well.

Bomberman. Found a copy on an old cd-rom along with Blip and Blop: Balls of Steel.

Quick sidenote; here's 4 decent minutes of Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer if anyone's interested
Map; Miami. Gamemode; VIP Escort. Looks like a bunch of professional players testing it out. See TeeP and Priestahh (Faze) in the lobby.

I gave up on Ni No Kuni. The battles were too boring and side quests/errands way too repetitive. Instead started and am quite enjoying Judgment. It's kind of like the Yakuza series except that you play as a private investigator who straddles the law abiding world and the dark elements a bit. It's a mixture of gritty and over the top and, most importantly, the game mechanics are actually fun.

I literally only played the first 30 mins or so before the bridge set piece from all the demo media.  Got distracted then watched Mulan instead. Will get back into it today though since Wellington is in the shitsville season of the year now.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1&2.. Very very good remake of the originals. Most of the music has come across, with a few new tracks and the levels are as I remember them, just fancied up to look a heap better obviously. The muscle memory is taking it's time to kick in but am really enjoying it.

Nice, I'm pretty tempted to pick it up too actually. Been tossing up whether to get this or Skater XL. The latter is just too light with content on PS4 though I think (no mods). Might also grab PGA Tour 2K21 while I'm at it.

Other than that, I've just about platinumed The Division 2, and have been chipping away at Minecraft Dungeons with the kids, 3 player same screen is so fun!
