Wow, that's a harsh assessment.  I agree there are nicer parts to the new mechanic, and some of the new things are cool like prone etc.  But I have replayed TLOU a few times and never found it to be a problem.  Were you playing the remaster or original?

I was playing the remaster. Not sure how that's different to the original as I've only ever played the remaster on PS4.

I'm sure if I had persevered I would have eventually gotten used to the differences but I guess I wasn't prepared to have to learn from scratch again.

I play the Steam version.

I don't care what the gfx are like in a game, long as the gameplay is there, I'm happy.

But I grew up with games such as Police Quest on the Amiga, and Pirates! on the C64 etc, and my first gaming system, an Atari 2600 ;)

Love Police Quest and Space Quest, played the former again all the way through about 2 years ago!

Started Spider Man again in preparation for Miles Morales. I forgot how amazing the graphics are for a PS4 game. It looks ridiculous!

So, Arkham City is finished. Shortest single player game I've played in a while. Didn't do all the side stuff, but the story seemed pretty short to me. Will play the next one in that remaster series, but my weekend will be spend playing some VR stuff I think. I bought Iron Man which gets amazing reviews.

Still having lots of fun in Sea of Thieves with mates......... let's just say, if you end up on a pirate ship with me as a captain, jump overboard fast. ;)

I don't necessarily sink the ship, but my actions don't help. Like abandoning my post at the wheel to go leap onto on enemy ship....... and no one on my crew notices.

That is the next one in the remaster series.  The first one was Asylum.  Knight isn't remastered as it's already current gen.  The side stuff in City is really good, worth a look.  The side stuff in Knight is also great.  I loved the Batgirl stuff is awesome.  The Red Hood stuff wasn't as good.  The Nightwing DLC was cool too.

Ah, I just pulled the disk out in the order in was in the container, assuming the one at the top was the oldest.

You'll have a hard time with Asylum then as some of the controls were evolved for City.  You'll get used to it, but it's a bit of a slower game.  Suits the story though given you're often in the confines of buildings in Asylum, rather than out in the open.

Are you able to make up avatar names in-game? I’d be Roger the Cabinboy, Master Bates or Seaman Staines.😃

Just finished Judgment (PS4) and my experience there increasingly sums up why I am growing ever-less tolerant of many elements of apanese game design.

The story/settings are actually quite compelling - an ex-lawyer who left the law and turned into a PI who unraveled a conspiracy involving unsanctioned human research and institutional corruption motivated by various characters' own life experiences etc. But horrible mechanics like you not being able to save during long missions (the ending with cinematics can be around 1.5 to 2 hours long) and the game spamming you with so many enemies to the extent that you can make/buy an extract so that the open world scrub goons will leave you alone just to make your gameplay experience a bit less repetitive tell you all there is to know. One merciful thing they did was that most of the side activities truly were side activities and they didn't bury massive story-changing elements or tidbits in them, so I got myself a decent sampling and then and just launched into finishing the game, which led to a reasonably tight gameplay experience and not the dragged-out affairs made famous by the likes of Ubi.

7/10.

Now playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Holy Crap! I just played 45 Minutes of Iron Man VR. What a freaking *blast*!

It's everything the reviews say. If you don't like heights or sudden drops or anything like flying, like me, then you are going to get all the same sensations, but once you start telling your brain you are 100% safe, it's so much fun.

There are still moments of crazy acceleration when things are beside you and you feel like you are seriously flying.

It's amazing.

I started playing Control again on my new gaming PC.  Holy cow, I thought Xbox One X looked good.  This game is freaking amazing on an RTX card and 144hz monitor!
