ictgeeknz: Not eveyone is a hardcore gamer like you, some us are recreational gamers. Take this into consideration before attacking people and their opinions. Calling me a "fool" and saying I know nothing, is disrespectful...

Hey mate, you started the attacks, not me. Nevermind the fact you didn't even read the thread properly first. Until you have something valid to say how about you stfu instead of questioning my opinion and then taking offence when i prove how stupid yours is. Yeah, just because I'm not as dimwitted as you, I'm so hardcore...

Does anyone know if GTA4 is set for release at the same time on 360 as it is PS3? Or will it be delayed like previous GTA titles?

cool, I already got both GTA4 and MGS4 on pre-order for my PS3. Can't wait!

If there's anyone here who plays Halo 3 online, do you know if they've released any new maps for multiplayer yet? I'm so sick of the old ones, I think they really needed a better selection to begin with. Most of the time there's only about 2 or 3 maps I end up playing because everybody Veto's the rest of them.

garvani: Theres no need to wait, its good now and its only going to get better!

Nice try my friend.. lol

No, I think I'll sit tight for the time being. I've got a bunch of regulars that I play COD4 online with. As you probably know yourself, playing with a bunch of mates regularly makes the whole experience that much more fun so I'm pretty reluctant to give that up at this stage. The sledging in the lobby in between matches is worth the $80 a year subscription fee alone!

I'm also pretty lucky that I've only had one RROD failure since launch so I guess I havent experienced the frustrations that others have.

Yeah, you're right, you have been lucky. One of my mates had it happen 5 times! Another had it happen 3 times. Quite ridiculous really, they seem to have sorted the heat problems with the elite console. I'm puzzled as to why anyone has to suffer through this more than once, surely they could mimick the elite's heat syncs when it's brought in for fixing...

ictgeeknz: I suspect, that the album art probably shows up if you've ripped a CD to the PS3 hard drive?

I'm not sure about WMP (I had trouble getting this going) but I do know that albums I've put directly on the HDD (while I get my WiFI sorted) show the album art, although I think this depends on whether it's mp3 or aac format - the latter not having the best support on PS3.  I know dnb4life questions the value of album art and other such features, but I know I choose album art over a generic album icon anyday - it's a personal preference.

In regards to WMP, the last time I ran a cable down the hallway to try the streaming to PS3, I used TVersity (free to use for both PS3 and X360) on my PC, which I found to be better and easier to use than WMP.  I know a few others here use it too as a preference.

AmooMan: They never include the 360's external power supply.. which is big and ugly..

What about the size of the actual plugs going into the back of the console?  I thought they seemed to be larger than really needed.  Undecided

I only said that because I don't use WMP, I'm sure if I did I would also prefer an actual album cover over a generic picture too :P

I use this also. It's extremely easy to use and I've never had any problems with it. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a free streaming solution. This program seems to be quite popular among the PS3 crowd.

Regarding the PS3 - DOES ANYONE KNOW:

i've read that 1080p games only output in 1080p - ie if i have a 720p tv only, my gran turismo 5 will not output in 1080p, will NOT output in 720p, but at 480p instead! is that right? if it is then that sucks i can only buy 720p games!

I'm not sure about this actually. I just presumed it was scaled down from 1080p? I have a 1080 LCDTV so It's never occured to me. I'm intrigued though and will be forced to look into this.

I havnt seen i game yet that is only 1080p.. they are normaly say HD 720p , 1080i, 1080p..on the back cover.

I have a 1050 pixels high Samsung 22" PC screen.. When running 1080p it just cuts off the sides..
When running 720p it upscales... Hope this helps

I've got a Sony 32" which has a max res of 720p, I know it'll accept a 1080p signal, and then downscales it. But I've set my PS3 to do the downscaling to 720p as it does a better job of it.

I've also got GT 5 Prologue which is 1080p, and with above setup the TV is displaying the input as 720p.

Just out curiosity where did you read it would drop to 480p?

I think it is for the use of those words to stop now. This is a warning before a ban is applied.
