I am interested to see what happens with quests and if it will provide something "new and exciting" to the daily grind, and what exactly the rewards are ..
However I have a feeling the date of the 30th for them to start is too early, since there is no real information out there - but happy to be proven wrong

I use the Pokebattler website to work out my best battle teams and breakpoints. It's a bit of work to load all your good Pokemon in (and the free option limits numbers) but once they're in there you just have to remember to update them if you power them up. It tells me which of my Pokemon will make the best team against any legendary boos and moveset, and the "raid advice" feature tells me which ones would be the best when fully powered up. In that section, I can click on each Pokemon and it will show me a graph of damage output at every level from current to 40, so I can decide if I want to power it up or not. Sometimes I'm just one or two levels away from the next breakpoint, so I do it, but if it's going to be too expensive I leave it as is.

I heard that Corbans Estate had lost its Pokestops. Apparently, it wasn't because the Corbans Arts Centre management asked that Niantic remove the stops - it was because they asked Niantic to pay rent for having the stops on the estate. Of course, normally companies pay Niantic to put stops on their property to increase their foot traffic. So it's unsurprising Niantic just shut them down.

That's interesting....

It's definitely the 30th - per this article on the official Pokemon.com website, which is slightly different to the one on the Pokemon Go website. Also a new APK just came out :)

The images so far show things like stardust and rare candy, both of which I am always eager for, so I can keep powering up my Groudons and Kyogres. I hope they also give out other stuff like 1-use incubators or star pieces - things you can't just get from spinning a Pokestop. Maybe even Masterballs, which have been in the code since the beginning, so when you finally unlock Mew he doesn't run away.

Ah yes, the new version that released yesterday with the research/quest stuff in it will certainly help the arrival of the research/quests on the 30th

While it hasn't helped all, the new version has also fixed the GoPlus bug introduced in 0.93.3

Is that the bug that stopped the Go Plus from working on Android 7.1.1? I hope so, as that's the problem I've currently got and it's stopped me from using my Go Plus for months.

A couple of weekends ago I did my second ever legendary raid (first sucessful one) and Friday I received an EX Raid Pass for next Sunday. I thought they were meant to be hard to come by?

They are "hard" because of the seemingly random nature of the allocation.  Becoming a lot more common now though.  Both myself and my daughter got one for this weekend, luckily at the same location given Upper Hutt has two EX raids at the same time.

Finished Lugia with two shiny ones for me.  Daughter got a 100% and then managed to get a shiny on the last one we did yesterday.

Halfway through the Mew quests.

Congrats on the EX pass. We did very well in terms of gyms that got passes on Friday - six gyms between Browns Bay and Takapuna were chosen. You don't need to have done a big raid there, either, as long as there's been plenty of activity during the week. We've had lots of people get passes from Tier 1 raids. The last two waves of EX raids in March were very stingy (just one gym per wave) but I suspect that's because the two previous to that covered about nine gyms, leaving very few still eligible towards the end of the month - it's suspected there might be some kind of "cool down" or other mechanic at work because they certainly had enough activity to qualify them.

Spoke too soon, the GoPlus has become even worse in this version. It was good for a few days and then has gone downhill fast.

How is everyone progressing with the quests?

I'm ready to collect my 7-day badge for the legendary encounter in the field research. I'm up to 6/8 in special research - done everything except 6 of the 10 raids. If I was in a rush I could go to a L1 and just time out in the lobby six times, but I'm going to use my Mew encounter for my L40 catch, so there's no point in taking the short-cut. Still got 445,000 XP to go. I'm likely to do ten raids before this weekend is over, then it's just catch 50 Pokemon with berries and do an excellent curve throw, both of which I'll manage in a day. I already have the gold Kanto badge requirement. I'm trying to time my L40 achievement for Community Day with the crew, but will likely get there before that. If so, I'll just go to my favourite park, throw on a lucky egg and a starpiece, trigger my Mew encounter and get it done. After that, my goal is stardust, stardust and more stardust. I was up to 700,000 at one point but have spent quite a bit on powering up my Groudon, Kyogre and Mewtwo. I have several of each I want to get to L35.

Mine seems ok.  Usually won't connect on the first attempt after starting the game, but will on second attempt and then every time after the 1 hour timeout.

On to Day 6 of the field quests with nearly 50 completed.

Currently doing the 10 raids quest on Level 6 of the Special Quest.  Decided that I'm not specifically going to go super hard and use the "repeatedly lose one raid for 45 minutes" trick to get that done.  Would rather actually do the 10 raids and get some potentially useful mon out of it.  So Latias last night and a sneaky solo Machamp at the train station this morning so far.

Agreed - I'm keen to do all actual raids. Although, given the 25+ Lugias I did on the weekend, I wouldn't feel guilty jumping in and out of one raid to get the achievement. My raid pass supply is decimated.

I'm trying to farm stardust quests in the field research. Go Hub have a good list of all the rewards which is worth a look if you're after a specific encounter.

Mine stopped for a few days after the update but has been working for two days without missing a single reconnect - I've never had it so good.
