With Project Helix confirmed by the Microsoft XBOX CEO Asha Sharma and PS6 all but certain, I thought it might be a bit of fun to talk about what that might look like.

My Primary wants are:

4K, 120hz gaming targetting 80FPS in Fidelty mode)

Smaller than the current generation (hopefully helped by improvements in integrated graphics and SOC)

Disk Drive for physical media

Quiet and not too hot.

A portable shape (Series S, not X or the stupid thing the PS5 is). Something akin to 330×151×82mm (Xbox Series S is 275 × 151 × 65 mm)

I think RDNA 4 is a decent platform, and I think we are likely to need around 15-20Tflops to target those framerates and refresh rates at 4K.

I did a little AI Modelling (badly I suspect) and got :

RX 9070M XT tier — 48 compute units of RDNA 4 on Navi 48, with 12GB VRAM, estimated around 20–22 TFLOPS FP32 in a mobile power envelope. That's nearly 2× the Series X (12 TFLOPS) on a chip that can run at 120W

I have no issues with the controllers of the current generation. I prefer the PS5, with it's touchpad and vibration.

The one thing I'd love are magnetic paddles ala the elite controller.  I'd take that over a touchpad or vibration.
