Thanks for that - some real NZ experience I’ve not heard before.

I suspect you’re right that it could be different for me. I do nee a VLAN for my internet connection, but I figure I’ll set it up as a client of my existing network first if I have to. Some people are saying the restore of a backup has worked well, but everybody seems to have an initial internet connection issue.

I have enough UniFi networking stuff that I don’t want to have to set it all up manually.

My UniFi switch was used independently, not as part of a UniFi controller or network. When I plugged it into the DM its status was ‘managed by other’. I had to power recycle to get rid of that status.

Yeah I'm banking on the backup restore function as well as I run a fully UniFi network - it started with the cameras damnit. hahaha

Anyway, too much stuff to manually rework but backup from the usg3p will be epic if able.

I just checked Go Wireless and they are saying the ETA is 31 July now. Also it’s dropped back to a more reasonable $675+GST. As they are the NZ supplier that carries more weight than Ascent’s previous 30 April ETA that was then caught in the Covid lockdown.

I’ve noticed a fair few software updates for the UDM Pro coming through from UniFi. That could mean there is just a lot to fix, or that they have been making good progress depending on your viewpoint I guess. Anyway, it’s nice to think my preorder will eventually be filled and in only 4 more weeks.

ooooo YAY!

although, did they bump the price up already!? https://www.gowifi.co.nz/switches/udm-pro.html  says 795+gst :/

I've also been following the updates and comments from US based owners and i think that the updates reflect the amount of work they are doing to stabilise the firmware/software. I expect there will be obvious teething problems which i hope those early adopters will help iron out by the time i can afford one. :)

You have to login with your gowifi account to see dealer pricing.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I didn’t realise I was seeing dealer pricing, though I do have a login. I actually paid $619+GST when I preordered way back in February.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Hmm. Mine says $795+GST on the left now I look again, but it has $675.75+GST in red on the right which is what caught my eye. It’s still there now, for me at least.

timbosan:

Now that the Dream Machine Pro has reached GA I am very keen to get one.  However it seems no-one in NZ has them listed and the Unifi site only ships to the USA.

Anyone know when they will be in NZ?

I guess they must have done. They were showing ETA of 30th July for a while then it changed to 6/8 and I was tracking it to see if it would slip further. They definitely had it listed as in stock when I looked this morning.

I'm slightly nervous that I haven't had anything to say mine was shipped, and if they sold out already it wouldn't be funny if they didn't fill my pre-order from the first batch. I'm sure it'll all be good though, they have been pretty onto it when I've contacted them previously.

Im more interested in the UXG-Pro instead, not interested in importing one at this stage when they get to general availability over there because of the silly US power outlet on the back of it.
