To many users on the mikrotik forum claim the 6.38.x series is unstable, and the firmware update has improved things, and it's easier to trace a problem making small changes to one thing at a time.  If I change 4 things how do I know what broke or fixed it?

If you got to System/packages, you can choose either the bugfix or current release. Bugfix will be an older release but considered more stable. Current is new, may have newer features and bug fixes, but possibly less stable. Release candidate is newer again.

Have you looked at how your bridge(s) is configured - seems to be some suggestion port flapping on the RB3011 is linked to bridge config.

I did read a lot about the bridge causing flapping, the bridges is part of the original quick setup.

One of the things I have done is clear the second set of ports, btu ti cant stay that way.  I didn't buy it to have half the ports unused :)

It has been down once that I can't account for in the last 84 hours.  The things I change then were updated the firmware and move the cables to the first group of ports.  So I am going to switch them up a bit and see how it goes.  I might have brought some new cables for nothing :)

@RobBB not sure if you have resolved your issue (if so, how?), but another ROS release with potentially helpful changes.

What's new in 6.38.4 (2017-Mar-08 09:26):

*) profile - classify ethernet driver activity properly in ARM architecture
